Yes. That's exactly the right time to do it. It was never going to last.

It was the perfect time to introduce PR and proper Lords reform.

‘Look I’ve just won by a fucking landslide but this system is fucked and not fair, let’s make it fairer for everyone’.

It’s a bit like wanting to slag a fucking incompetent, biased ref off in a certain sport. It’s always better to do it after you’ve won comfortably.

Johnson is orders of magnitude worse.

100%

I hope I never again live in a country governed by anyone like David Cameron, he's by far the worst prime minister I've ever lived under.

His social/economic/welfare policy was to unleash relentless austerity on the lowest and poorest 30% of the British public which caused undue hardship in every city right across Britain. Homelessness and food banks flourished, the utter despair of people on the streets addicted to class A drugs with no possibility of help or hope is in a main part down to him, it's his legacy and its a shocking sorry advertisement for modern day Britain.

His foreign policy was every bit as bad, he played silly war games in countrys like Libya seemingly because that's what Eton boys do. The results were/are catastrophic, the Manchester arena bombings being a grizzly awful offshoot of the mans num headed incompetent leadership. As with his social policy the disastrous results just keep coming and coming.

His behaviour out of office simply sums up the total lack of self awareness of the damage he's done to this country; the cunt.

But it's also the reason he was never going to do it

And it's also where I start to shudder. He wouldn't change the voting system, which would pretty much ensure governments of the viewpoint he purported to represent, but he would go along with a frankly insane US policy of intervention.

The really sad thing is that I'm pretty sure introducing PR wasn't a fringe view in '97.

I got an indication yesterday of one of the reasons the Left is fucked. I was on the march against the Arms Fair which stopped for speakers at the Metropolitan Cathedral. Some decent speakers, too. The reasons for wanting the arms fair cancelled touch on a lot of the things that are wrong with the way this country is run - our economy, our foreign policy, our policies against asylum seekers, our inaction on climate change, our undemocratic and corrupt system of governance, etc. - so it's obvious that different people on the march were there with different priorities, coming from different perspectives, but arriving at the same conclusion: that the arms fair should be cancelled. It's called solidarity.

The way solidarity works is you focus on what you have in common and you work towards that goal. But that's not good enough for some cunts. They think they know better. There was a tiny handful of people (from some "Ooh, look at me, I'm more Socialist than you" group - I'm not sure which one) behind me at the Cathedral; a small enough group, but they had a mic and speaker, so they were able to loudly heckle the people on the platform. And didn't they just! All kinds of inane bullshit trying to drown out people they clearly didn't consider Leftie enough, including those famous Blaire sell-outs Dan Carden, Maxine Peake and John McDonnell.

It was like a real-life version of Twitter. I think it was Mark Steel who recently said that the problem is that people are looking for traitors, not converts. As long as we keep ourselves divided, we're fucked.

You sure they weren't just there to disrupt the event?

Spot on. Said it many times, the Cameron/Osbourne partnership is the nastiest this country has ever known. Johnson is a chancer and a real piece of work but he’s not at their level.

I think the current lot are every bit as nasty, just nowhere near as competent at it.

If you look at what they are doing to the fabric of democracy they are much, much worse.

Social policy you'll be hard pressed to emulate the sheer level of distain Osbourne had for the least well off in this country and he did everything he could to take every last drop not just from families, but from supporting infastructure and the saftey net that brings, callous and uncaring about anybody but themselves to the last without a shred of empathy.

This lot are different though, they have the 'libertarian 'let's destroy democracy' playbook' in their back pocket and they are hellbent on shaping the world to their, and their backers, whim at the expense of basic rights and freedoms and that frankly is fucking abhorrent.

Neither are good, but this current lot, or at least the brains in the control room, are much more dangerous, but no equal to the sheer nastiness of Osbourne and Cameron, or maybe they will be once they are done and history can fully judge.

Cunts all to a man, but only one group is being cheered on whilst they do it and that's the sinister part.

Definitely. Interesting that Cameron, Osborne, Johnson all went to the same school/were part of the same crowd.

May was an old school Tory as were many of her allies, captain Mainwaring in a skirt.

Cameron, Osborne, Johnson don't care about the country, the flag, tradition, all they care about is money. They'd sell the ministry of defence to the Kremlin for the right price.

Interesting that they're all clearly, spectacular thick too, vein and completely lacking in empathy. The most dangerous of human character traits.

Totally agree.

The really disingenuous part is this loveable buffoon act and whilst I agree he is possibly the most inept pm in history,he has somehow managed to convince a big chunk of working people ,that he has their best interests at heart.

If you look back over the last 40 years or so its staggering the amount of damage they have done.

From Thatcher, Cameron and now this shower of cunts.

The one period of relative prosperity was probally the mid 90s through to the crash when labour were in power, yet they are still seen as being almost unelectable.
