Seems he’s been a bit snide about all the donations he received during the leadership campaign. Receiving money but not formally ‘accepting’ it until later so it wasn’t apparent who his donors were until after the ballot.

That was a really strange statement from him and quite worrying. It adds to the impression that he doesn’t have any deep political convictions.

 

If you have sincerely held beliefs and are passionate about putting them into action, promoting them to people you need to win over should be something you find exciting and invigorating.

The 'demise' of Trade Unions (a deliberate tactic from the tories to starve the movement and Labour Party of funds) has led to fewer and fewer Labour MPs now coming from that background. The 'firebrands' and people steeped in the working class person's way of life are now almost non existent. I could barely identify an MP based on their party as they mostly look the same as they are largely from the same backgrounds. You used to be able to spot the 'slimy tory' a mile off but they could be from any party now.

Doesn't Starmer come from a very modest background? Obviously he made a success of himself, and is therefore the devil incarnate, but I don't think he can be accused of not knowing what it's like for "normal" people.
