Ah, Ipswich.... John Wark, I assume you mean? He was a midfielder.

Wark started his career at Ipswich in the youth team, initially playing at left back before moving to the centre of defence and occasionally occupying the right back position.

Did he really? I thought he rotated with Hansen and Lawrenson. I don't know how long he was at Liverpool for though. Edit: he is quoted as being a goal scoring midfielder.

Story on his medical, I really thought it was going somewhere else...

"I was rather taken aback when the doctor entered the Anfield boot room", Wark said. "He was small in stature and I could not help but detect the smell of alcohol on his breath as he introduced himself to me. I was even more surprised when he announced we would stay put to conduct the medical examination. "He took my blood pressure, looked at the reading and muttered 'that's fine'. Then something happened that to this day I still cannot get over. He asked me to bend down and touch my toes. "Trying not to show my surprise, I did exactly as he asked and as I lifted my head he spoke again, this time to announce 'you've passed'. That was it, my Liverpool medical."

I don't recall him playing anything other than midfield, but must of filled in at the back at some stage maybe, didn't he weigh in with double figure goals one season?

He played at Centre Half for Ipswich but I can't remember Wark ever playing there for us.

Carlo Cudicini. He was Milan's sub keeper when they lost to Marseille in 1993. He only played one Serie A game with Lazio before signing for Chelsea in 2000, where he was their player of the year in 2002. Incidentally, his dad played in goal for Milan when they won their second European Cup in 1969.

Well played.

I thought he won it at first, but got mixed up with the following year when Milan won it, but he was injured and didn't make the bench.
