I considered George Gently. Can’t have them all, though.

Thought it best to stick to one portrayal per character. Only watched Hannah as Rebus but I’m happy to have Stott instead.

Nah, no worries mate, I see your reasoning now. Stick with your list!

Like all great detectives, you need to gather as much evidence as possible. Then the case will be cracked.

What case is it again?

You moan more than me nowadays, Vlad!

Frank Cannon was mentioned in my ‘Your Top 5 Favourite TV Detectives’ thread.

I’m just trying to do my bit to keep people entertained. A bit of light relief. Re. the list of 32 for the tournament, obviously, I included my own favourites, but also wanted it to be a fair representation of other poster’s favourites. My personal top 32 would be somewhat different.

If people are fed up with dectectives, sound, let’s do a different tournament. You mentioned kids programmes the other week. The problem with that is, we didn’t all grow up in the same era and will have watched different stuff. A combined 60s, 70s and 80s one is doable, as older stuff was repeated in the 80s, but 90s kids could possibly be excluded. Plus, I did a ‘Top 10 favourite kids programmes’ thread last year.
