Sunny is more like British comedies in that you are not supposed to like the grotesque characters, there are no happy endings and no one learns anything in a neat lesson at the end of the show. In this respect it is closer to things like Fawlty Towers than Frasier, Friends and the numerous other US sitcoms that are generally regarded as classics
