How about the blind pensioner who is stuck in his house? Someone has to do his shopping for him, but like you say the aisles are empty and there are massive queues so the logical thing to do for him is to shop online.  Problem is all the slots are taken by lots of healthy not as vulnerable people who wont give them up. I guess they are more important than him.

Tell them to go to https://www.jjfoodservice.com/.

You're welcome.

It seems there is no logical answer to this virus at the moment other than to completely isolate yourself, which is impossible for most people as they live with partners and families. The only folks who are generally on their own are the ones at most risk, the elderly, and these people need shopping and access to medical care and such. They often don't use computers or know how they work,my mother in law and my own mum haven't got a clue so need family members to help them out. It seems online shopping makes very little difference to the most vulnerable as they dont use it. There used to be things such as meals on wheels and other support mechanisms but I highly doubt those places exist any more.

No. Not at all. As I said, I'm happy to wait while others are prioritised. I'm not happy to put myself in an environment where my risk (and others who I might pass it on to) of contracting a potentially deadly virus is massively increased. That's not Tory. It's common sense.

I'm not arguing my point any further. It's clear. As is the fact that you're talking bollocks. Plus, I've got an online shop to do.

You wont think of the common good only your own.

Of course you wont argue any further. Some fucking socialist you are.

Of course it makes a difference if someone does it for them!

I dont think my view is extreme at all.

I'm sorry if your parents are at risk but, assuming you dont live with them you shouldnt be in the same room as them and doing what everyone else does by leaving things on doorsteps etc. Obviously if you do live with them I take it all back and apologise profusely.

We all need to keep healthy but remember this is all about the vulnerable people in our society

I don't think your view is extreme, it's the calling everyone on here cunts that has got people's back up, people that are trying to self isolate and be considerate by not going out unless absolutely necessary, your vitriol should be directed to the masses that are descending on parks, beaches, over filling trolleys and emptying shelves by taking  more than they need. They are the source of the issue here.

But how are the shop staff able to know?

I'm sorry I have no idea what you are saying.

I was just stating that online shopping is relevant to older people whether they can use a computer or not as other people can do it for them. Sainsburys are now prioritising vulnerable people for deliveries, the problem is proving they are vulnerable and trying to get through on a national helpline

I agree with what you say, however i believe that the people who hog the delivery slots at the expense of vulnerable people are as bad or probably worse.

I am simply saying that how do ordinary staff in the shops,my wife works in asda, know that an order is being placed for a vulnerable person? These workers are usually on minimum wage doing an ordinary job. Do you not think its the job of a government to step in and help its citizens at a time like this rather than the ordinary shop staff?

So what is the solution? I spent most of Friday morning going shop to shop trying to get essentials such as milk (we had none since Tuesday evening) the amount of old and vulnerable in the shops was quite a high percentage, most of them stood in groups chatting amongst themselves, surely I should be stating away from all that? Exactly what I'm doing.

p.s. Equating "as long as you dont actually have to put yourself out" with not wanting to contract a virus that may require medical intervention to keep you alive is a late contender for the most ludicrous thing I've ever read on here trophy. Utterly bonkers.

Would you, for the common good to help those more vulnerable than you, suspend doing your shopping online so that those people are more likely to get what they need and less likely to suffer or die?

We should all be doing what we can to ensure those people dont have to go to the shops.

I have to ask the question:

What are you doing to ensure those people don't have to go to the shops?

I'm trying to arrange online deliveries for my mum 240 miles away but failing, or as this morning, going to the supermarket myself and leaving the shopping on the doorstep of a local guy i'm trying to help.

Why have you assumed that I'm not vulnerable or, at least, more susceptible to complications if I contract this virus?

I want a way where nobody is put at risk of contracting this deadly and dangerous virus. You want a way where people are put at risk of contracting this virus which, even though they might not die, they could suffer severe symptoms and develop life changing/long term complications.

For me, that makes YOU the selfish cunt.

I'm pretty sure you, as have others, would have said if you were vulnerable, anyway you did state you were happy to pop in the shops just not do much.

Obviously I also want a way where nobody is put at risk, in the meantime i will not do my own shopping online just for those that are vulnerable and will go myself to do it if necessary.

Dont be fucking stupid saying i am the selfish cunt when i am the advocating that the vulnerable should be looked after by those more healthy and less at risk.

So answer the question. Would you, for the common good to help those more vulnerable than you, suspend doing your shopping online so that those people are more likely to get what they need and less likely to suffer or die?

I've already dealt with the question.

Also, just because people don't discuss any medical issues with strangers on an Internet forum, don't assume that they don't have any.

And, stop being selfish.

Yes you dealt with the question by not answering it.

I dont expect anyone to discuss any medical issues on an internet forum.

Go back to my original statement - If you are ordering online, not at risk and have a car, please fucking stop now you selfish cunts  to which I added or a key worker.

You tried to justify your shopping habits, didnt state you couldnt go to the shops for health reasons and went on about me being selfish and making the most ludicrous statements you'd seen on the internet.

Try answering the question, but i'll amend it slightly -

Would you, for the common good to help those more vulnerable than you, (and not in that category yourself) suspend doing your shopping online so that those people are more likely to get what they need and less likely to suffer or die?
