That Nadine Dorries has definitely sampled Johnson’s love custard. She’s absolutely infatuated.

I don't think she has yet, but she definitely wants to. I remember the first time he was running for party leader, and Gove knifed him and he had to resign. She was on the front row of his announcement, crying her eyes out like a lovesick schoolgirl.

Thread from Peston, which really should make you want to kick the snot out of every last detestable one of the Tory thieves.

That beggars belief. All that money squandered, criminally so in my view, but at least they're clawing some revenue back by taking the £20 off Universal Credit claimants, people who really need that paltry sum.

Absolute fucking vermin.

Yeah but Corbyn would have split 8 billion between Hamas and the IRA then spent 700 million on a bridge for refugees to cross the channel.

A large part of his audience is thick enough or narrow minded enough or both to believe  charges like that as well.

They swallow any lies or guff Johnson or his cabinet spews out.

If they really want to recover money from suppliers, particularly the defective PPE suppliers, just hand over the names and addresses of the directors of those companies to the public. I guarantee you’ll get a fair amount back in no time.

Levelling up, or the Great British Swindle...

This is bordering on Orwellian 'Double speak'

It's not new money, as it was never actually allocated, but was budgeted for, costed and set aside, but now they are giving it to someone it is new money as they didn't have it originally, so we are leveling up.

No, you are just repurposing money from other areas and claiming in new investment!

The Chinese built the Great Wall of China by building smaller parts in areas where people would see, so when people travelleved they could see it and talk of it as a great project, this is the same, but we'll not have a wall after, just broke councils being told they spent their money, it's their fault the next town across has a new astro turf and they don't.

New money — One reason for the hold-up to the white paper has been, according to multiple officials and government advisers, a tussle between Gove and Chancellor Rishi Sunak over funding. Esther notes Sunak has been far more willing to sign off on individual pots of money for specific projects than to make multi-year funding commitments aimed at big ideas such as, say, improving productivity. The senior government source insisted to Playbook that the criticism of a lack of new money was “bogus” as there hadn’t yet been detail on the departmental cash allocations announced at the spending review. They argued: “We have not yet said ‘It’s going to you Dan Jarvis’ [the South Yorkshire mayor]. For the person receiving it it’s definitely new money.”

They don't though, it's mostly gone to their old private school mates, and their private sector paymasters and donors. Just another swindle. Covid has been brilliant for them - it's given them an easy cover to empty taxpayers money into the pockets of the rich, and to fast forward the sell off of the NHS to private healthcare.

You can tell at Prime Minister's questions that he really doesn't give a shit thousands of people have died. They're just collateral.

Unfortunately you've got people in this country who think he's on their side - but he wouldn't piss on them if they were on fire.
