  • Liverpool FC have an opportunity to make a huge moral statement..
...and lead the calls for the season to be abandoned out of respect for the 20k+ who have lost their lives due to Covid-19.

They have a fantastic team, they’ll obviously be back competing next year quite probably winning it, wouldn’t it be great to see them make the ultimate sacrifice and earn huge respect for doing it.

It’s not as if the current league table and a record of their superb season is suddenly going to be erased from the history books. Everyone knows they were the best team by far and Champions in all but name.

It would obviously be tough on teams missing out on promotion and a lucky reprieve for teams in danger of relegation but it wouldn’t be the first time a team has been on the wrong end of an injustice, whether it be handballs denying qualification for international tournaments, rioting fans denying teams a shot at the European Cup and quite possibly setting the team in question on a trajectory from which they never recovered, the outbreak of the Second World War leading to the abandonment of the season after three games was no doubt unfortunate for whoever were the title favourites at the time, clubs being taken over by chicken factory owners and ending up ruined, well the list is endless.

Football is full of historical unfairness and nobody could have reasonably expected a pandemic (well apart from the scientists who’ve been warning about this for years, but never mind) so you know, get over it etc

As long as Everton do the nobel thing as well and drop down into the championship.

Don’t seem to remember them making a similar gesture to Bolton in 97/98 season...And who knows if they had gone down they could be in the national league now ..

Spare a thought for the disallowed goal against Everton FC that cost Bolton so dearly

Why does the league being completed when it's safe pose more of a risk than starting a new season and voiding one that 75 percent complete.  It's not Liverpool trying to profiteer from a pandemic we've earned our position it's all these fuckers calling for it to be void who are trying to gain an advantage, if it's not a sporting one,  it's one born of spite and nothing else. If Everton and other fans want to show class they should declare that Liverpool should be awarded the title regardless of what happens due to the unprecedented lead they have amassed with only 9 games left.

      Fucking bell ends.

Not even trying to hide the incredibly predictable, incredibly dull and incredibly petty whole point of that shite.

Not really sure why people are worried. Germany, Poland and a few other nations are puting in dates for their return. The Premier League and the other big leagues are a few weeks behind but evidently have a plan to do the same. Belgium and Scotland clearly have decided to award titles. The Dutch have uncharacteristically fucked things up, but now all the other leagues can learn from their fuck up. Legal challenges seem to be happening now.

I'll be honest, if we were under 10 points clear, I would be more concerned and I think the Leeds, West Broms and Coventrys of this world have us to be grateful for in that regard. Even then, I would still say they would do their best to complete the season. Firstly, it's financial suicide not too for any club. Secondly, from the league it would be a piss take denying a team who essentially need 6 points from 19 games the title and who in theory could win it if they beat City. The team who have dropped 5 points out of 87.

I accept things may fall apart with a restart in other leagues. If that happens, I expect the Premier League may go down the route of playing games abroad. If it can't be completed within the next 3 months, then next season isn't happening the way all the idiots on Bluemoon etc think it will so they may just decide to complete the rest of this season in the Autumn/Winter. If that can't be done we will get it on ppg, but at that point, I expect less than 10 teams in the country will survive.

Play them on the Falklands.  Each club isolating on a separate boat off Port Stanley.

Falklands had 13 cases, 2 are still active. Yemen had only 1 and he has recovered. Let's go to Yemen. What can possibly go wrong?

If Liverpool came out and said that the league should be voided in respect of the deaths due to Covid 19, Blueshite knobheads would then acuse Liverpool of making it all about them.

This. Un fucking believable those cunts make everything about Liverpool then say it's Liverpool making everything about themselves.
