A lot of clutching at straws here. If the peak is a few months away I can't see footie going ahead for 5/6 months .

This season is done imo.  There are no words

Yep. The only hope for some kind of resolution on that front is if at some point they test all players, managers, etc... there are no positive cases, and the authorities decide behind closed-door games would be good for public morale, or some rationale like that.

That won't happen . It's too much fucking about and some players or their relatives/friends , club employees/doctors etc will have the thing or been in contact with infected people for the next few months. I think the foreign players will be allowed to go home fairly soon anyway especially if they close schools , which they will for sure.

It's over this time . I'm mainly concerned that my family and friends plus all you cunts on here get out the other side in one piece right now.

I’m walking around London today and it’s very quiet, but the amount of elderly still out and about is insane. Realistically that is the segment of society at risk here and who will be taking the hospitals at breaking point. Ate in a restaurant where the average age of 1 table must have been around 70 with 1 guest in a wheelchair .. I’m absolutely amazed any sane person in that age group thinks this is the time to go for lunch!

Give it a chance for fuck sake

How do you push the season back till September when it needs wrapped up early for the Euros next June?

Especially with a fucked up schedule the year after due to FIFA getting its palms greases for a middle Eastern world cuo

Scrap the things that are less important financially and in terms of prestige like domestic cups and international friendlies if it helps. Finish the league you’ve started before starting a new one and end up devaluing another competition.

Why are Arsenal not testing their players if Arteta has it?

Olympiakos, Forest and West Ham all tested their players didn't they? Where's the harm in Arsenal doing it? Makes no sense to me.

They didn't send this cunt to 504 Battery Drive so why would they be arsed about this

Yep. That makes almost too much sense though.

Personally, I think games will start to go ahead in late spring / early summer, perhaps with communal screenings banned and advice to stay away completely if you’re over 60 and / or have underlying health conditions. Regardless of whether it’s right or yet another Cummings horror show, the government tactic is to delay; that doesn’t mean shutting everything down indefinitely, but pushing the peak as far away from winter as possible. The expectation is that this will become a recurring seasonal virus, and given the timescales on a vaccine, it’s inconceivable that things will keep shutting down for months on end in the meantime.

If our next game is Citeh and we do them, we can win it there apparently.

https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/premier-league-fixture-suspensions-means-21686773

Due to the suspension, the Reds will not face Everton on Monday 16 nor Crystal Palace on March 21. Meanwhile, Manchester City - whose fixtures have an effect on when Liverpool can win the league - will not face Burnley on March 14.

Liverpool's next match will therefore take place on April 5 against Man City, and if they win this fixture the gap between the two clubs will be too great for Pep Guardiola's side to amend.

Pep's got a cashmere medical mask.

And here’s Miguel Delaney, contradicting Sam Wallace and claiming that there are clubs who want the season voided and that the Tory government has decided that its previous advise of stadium sports being a-okay might be bunk, and that football will be shut down until at least September.

He does say that voiding the entire thing is seen as unlikely though!

https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/coronavirus-news-premier-league-champions-europa-cobra-meeting-a9401466.html

There are a minority of clubs keen to declare the season null and void and start again after the summer. Figures involved in the talks suggested that this is “unlikely” but creating a framework that will satisfy all the parties involved will be difficult. There is no blueprint or procedure in place to deal with the situation caused by this huge global health scare. The three options appear to be finishing the campaign whenever play resumes, even if it overlaps into next season’s calendar; ending the league in May, even if no more matches take place with trophies, promotion and relegation going to the teams in those positions now; or writing off the entire campaign. The second and third alternatives would likely generate numerous legal challenges.
