Coronavirus could prevent Liverpool from winning the Premier League title

funny that the PL are now goning for a hard line after allowing many clubs to postpome not just one but 2 games because of covid infections and non vaccinated players having to then isolate.  Should be 3-0 forfeits for all those teams that failed to fulfill their fixture obligation.

Is there any numbers for this? This can't be accepted, it should be treated no differently to a hamstring pull.

Perhaps that's why some clubs were being cagey about details, for fear of a backlash.

Amazing isnt it? manchester united, who supposedly had one of THE worst covid outbreaks recently and, have had at least one of their league games postpone but now consider they are through the worst of it, actually opposed a call backed by Liverpool and arsenal to drop one round of games from the Christmas fixtures.

Have these twats been sanctioned yet for failing to get the originally scheduled game last season against us, on after their own fans broke into the ground and compromised the red zones? Anyone?

Genuinely sick to death of all the self-interest in football. It's why I couldn't be doing with all the hypocritical moaning from the other clubs about the super league proposal. Sure, the closed shop idea was completely against the principles of sporting merit, but some of the biggest moaners had been using a worldwide pandemic to try and take away the threat of relegation 12 months earlier. Now there are rumours of clubs falsifying covid cases to have fixtures moved to more convenient times and clubs voting against making the Christmas schedule a bit easier for strained squads because it might actually benefit them. Meanwhile international football is the worst of the lot. At a time when they probably should have just stopped all international fixtures and tournaments completely for both health and logistical reasons, FIFA instead shoehorn in more than ever because heaven forbid their profits ever take a hit. I love Klopp and our squad of players but everything else about football these days just repulses me.

Slef interest and greed have been eating football since 1992 and it is accelerating all the time.

The ESL is actually a more benign model than the status quo.

Expect nothing less from united, I hope they get a second wave then cry arse about needing games stopping. They should of been fucked for the game being cancelled last year, if it was us we would of been and the fans annihilated by the press but united fans were lauded. Everton have the balls to call us media darlings.

So, wreck-it Ralf gets nearly three weeks to drill his players - I'm not buying this Carrington being closed bet they all went back to the Cliff in secret.  Fucking hell, I'm beginning to sound like a blue...

Utd are like Boris and Co, just do whatever they want and laugh their cocks off behind the scenes knowing they're not going to get challenged on it.

More importantly, not only have united had no games prior to the always heavy Christmas schedule, they now have most if not all their first team regulars who are not long term injuries available to play just when other clubs are being told so long as they have a keeper, U23 players with first team experience and can muster 14 players on a match day, they have to play. Not only that, if they claim players are not fit, the PL's chief medical officer will have the final say as to whether they are fit or not.

It fucking stinks.

While I can see how some clubs worked this to their advantage, if we looked to cancel the Tottenham game, it could have backfired spectacularly. I'm very confident they would have put it in for a time that wouldn't suit us - who knows if the ACON is going ahead because a lot could change in the next 10-12 days but if they replayed it in January, already that's three players out. Throw in a few injuries or covid cases and we may have played them missing more than Sunday.

Jurgen dealing with the problem like the managerial giant that he is. Showing faith in young Morton. Letting him know that he believes in him. The faith he puts in talents like Morton, Elliott, Kelleher, Jones etc is just beautiful to see and they will be better men, not just better players by the time he leaves.

We could have won or lost on Sunday by a few goals, but the biggest thing that cost us is failing to control games like it did in the Brighton and Brentford games. We show more nous and we will win this league.

City are fallible. We cut them down two years ago just like other clubs did to us in the 70s and 80s or the Mancs under Ferguson. They are outstanding but fuck it so are we.

Take a look at Utd Xmas schedule as well. No 2 games in 2 days for them. They have  Monday, Thursday, Monday.

Premier League clubs have chosen to fulfil festive fixtures despite ongoing disruption caused by Covid-19 cases.

The league's 20 clubs met on Monday to discuss how they could deal with the challenges faced after six fixtures were postponed because of Covid-19 numbers over the weekend.

It is understood Liverpool were among a group of clubs who pushed for the postponement of gameweek 20.

Lijnders was deeply unimpressed with that decision being taken by managers and CEO's rather than scientists or doctors.

Isolation period is being reduced to 7 days for the vaccinated. Assuming the PL follow suit we could be back to full strength very soon.

But what damage to our season in the mean time. We've already dropped 2 points playing a weakened side then the competition is now well rested. The clubs who havent had any games cancelled should have that same option if they choose too. A club like united shouldn't be protected until they're fully fit while others are expected to make do.

Personally, I think that the side that was fielded was capable of beating Spurs and was fucking robbed. 1 simple mistake from our first choice keeper included.

They ran through us for fun mate, it was like the 2-7 against Villa at times. With a stronger team, especially in midfield, we probably would have beaten them despite the cheating from the officials. With this team we were lucky to get a draw.

I dont necessarily disagree but after Spurs had thrown the kitchen sink, and mostly missed,we performed brilliantly with what we had available.

With fabinho, thiago, VVD and Henderson though he's not covid related spurs get bummed. They're not good, our missing players effected us as it would anybody. Yeah they did admirably in large parts of the game but in others we were ragged and could of been 3 down  at one point. Fabinho was the huge miss at the weekend, also VVDs long balls to salah.

van Dijk, Fabinho and Jones all cleared to play Boxing Day if selected by Liverpool after 10 day isolation cut to 7 days. Even is they tested positive on 18 December, their isolation would end on the 24th.

The question remains when exactly they tested and whether they have been using exercise machines to maintain a level of fitness. Think it more likely they would be available for the trip to leicester though.

I suppose it depends on how the virus has affected them personally. Some people are getting worse symptoms than others. Let's hope our lads are fine.

They're all asymptomatic, apparently
