It'll depend when they 1st tested positive, that could be Thursday as we were still waiting for PCR's on Friday. So if Thursday is day 1, it means boxing day is day 11, but of course they won't have trained.

Haven’t we given them a home training regimen in the past?

From the Tomkins times:

Meanwhile, at least one Premier League club has got medical staff to fiddle their Covid status to get games cancelled; something Jürgen Klopp wouldn’t want to do, in part as he has integrity, and in part as catching up on games is not easy. (The truth will hopefully out, and the case I’ve heard about is not Spurs, but I also wouldn’t put it past various clubs trying to take advantage of a pathetic lack of consistent policy – much like when a decision is or isn’t referred by the VAR to the ref.)

If clubs have used this as an excuse to get games cancelled (and I do believe some may have) then they need to be hit hard by the Premier League, point deductions or whatever.

Won't hold my breath.

Fans of tin pot clubs telling Liverpool and Chelsea fans to get over it, while Man City and its squad assembled at a vast cost of transfers and wages walk the title in the meantime.

I've got the impression over the last few years that other fans are happy for City to hoover up the league and cups season after season - why?

I hope Covid rips through the England squad next time they're in a tournament. I won't feel for the fans as they cry into their pints of Carling singing Sweet Caroline.

Sterling De Bruyne Jesus Mahrez

Grealish De Bruyne Foden Mahrez

Sterling Bernardo Jesus Grealish

City's front 4 for the last 3 games, you have to wonder how Pep does it, I'm sure during the December slog into a 4 game month for half the squad probably helps.

They won’t be punished. It’s the sort of offence that should command an immediate 100 point deduction but no-one will have the will to look into, so it’s a case of play by the book and be massively disadvantaged or join the cheats to stand a chance.

Because they're the new kids on the block who've bought their way to the top of the table rather than evolve their club and team into winners to ruffle up the hegemony of the 'legacy' clubs who did it the long, hard way.

City have shown them if you have a rich enough owner who pours unlimited amounts of money into your club, you can win the PL and even get to CL finals. Well, just once to a CL final so far. That gives hope to these no marks that one day, it could be them.

Now, it is newcastle with the money and unless the management team running the club really fuck it up, within 10 years, they will probably be challenging for the PL.

It's ironic that after all the years of newcastle fans chanting '(one) greedy bastard!' at all and sundry, they no longer sing it. Wonder why that is?
