Would be interesting to see the hypocrisy from the conspiracy theorists who condemned Liverpool last week.

The horse has bolted, once they allowed the first game to go it was inevitable it would continue to happen. Thomas Frank's suggestion of a 10 break before Christmas to reset would have worked if they included a caveat that if you can't get a team together from here then you forfeit the game. Arsenal would be able to field a side then.

Just seen this but yeah, all the 'gooners' quieter than a mouse. Are they afraid to play spurs or something?

The whole thing is a joke. leicester having the shit game called off for a 2nd time and after playing an FA Cup tie hours before. No outcry. Their game against Burnley is off now because Burnley asked for it but I bet leicester are quite pleased.

There's going to be a fixture pile up and the league should not bend over backwards to find a 'mutually' agreed date for these games where the club has asked for more than one game to be called off.

If city win the title, that'll be the last two they have won with massive asterisks against them.

Some people saying now liverpool have took the piss everyone is trying it. One game we asked to be postponed just one. How many have others had and before ours.

They're all suffering from convenient amnesia. Pretending Liverpool were the first to ask, when loads of games had already been postponed for other clubs throughout December.

You just have to read some of the comments at the bottom of this article. Even when arsenal played the system, Liverpool lied. They just used fake tests etc. Not a word about leicester's 3 games off!

From BBC match ticker:

I agree, it's wrong Tim (16:12) but Liverpool set the standard when they couldn't field a team on Thursday for the Carabao and then did for the F.A. Cup on the Sunday... There needed to be a consistent rule from the start and there wasn't - people are now going to play the system.

Premier League considers locking the stable door after the horse has bolted!

The PL have announced they will look again at the covid postponement rules for the league after this weekends fixtures according to SSN.

Yes, now a handful of clubs have hand a nice break over probably the busiest part of the season while others have played on, the PL will clamp down on the postponements.

Bit fucking late if you ask me!

It's absolutely nuts how we've been singled out. Loads of teams postponed games before us, loads of teams have had more games postponed. We have postponed just one game and it was a double legged league Cup game that lost us the home advantage in the second leg. This country is fuelled by blind fucking hate on every issue, forget facts just cling on to what feeds that bile.

Simon Hughes with a big article on the Athletic about the postponement of the first leg. Headline - "Liverpool, covid 19 confusion and the Arsenal match that didnt need to be called off". Cue more fuming from Arsenal fans online today.

I think some of them are now simply clinging onto this thing as an excuse if they get knocked out tonight. Even though they now have 2nd leg home advantage. Would really love to batter them there today. Would also be interesting to see if other journalists write long articles about other clubs with numerous postponements since December.

Simon Hughes is talking shit. The protocols for LFT positive tests was available to all. If players test positive they had to isolate, go home and have a PCR test, the results of which take a couple of days.

We all know this but of course Hughes just wants to give us another kicking to divert attention. Did he bother mentioning an arsenal player's yellow card and suspicious betting patterns or is that one he just sweeps under the carpet?

The Athletic seem to have a bit of an agenda against Klopp after he called them out post the Old Trafford match. The amount of snide little digs by journos about the postponed Arsenal game is unbelievable, Klopps only error was he was too honest, none of the other clubs are sharing any information.

As off today, PL clubs must prove 4 covid positive tests amongst playing staff to have a PL game postponed.

arsenal managed to get their game against spurs called off despite only having 1 positive covid test. Funny they didnt get the same amount of vitriol thrown their way like we did, eh?

The fact that the PL have changed the rules again shows how shambolic the whole thing has been. They have handled it poorly from the beginning.

Look at the league tables of all the other major leagues in Europe. Most of the teams there have played an equal number of games. ONE is the highest number of games in hand by any of the teams in France, Germany, Italy or Spain. Because they ensured games weren't postponed unless absolutely necessary.

In contrast, have a look at the PL table. A fucking joke. Some teams have 2 or 3 games in hand. And Burnley have 5!!

I think 4 is still too low. Is it just players or staff as well?

I’d say if you have 11 out you can ask for a postponement.

Hopefully City have an outbreak once the break is over.

Apparently 4 is the minimum threshold for an application to be made and that the decision wont be automatic. But they would say that, wouldnt they?
