Given the fucking nonsense that Johnson was spouting last night I can't see the league starting the 20/21 on time at all. Some people were already ignoring the advice to stay at home, now more and more will be doing whatever they want. There's going to be a second spike and a second lockdown imo.

They weren’t going to be able to keep things going anyway. People weren’t going to keep it up forever.

The Daily Wail has run a couple of stories today. One is that the Cologne players tested positive have been given the clear and, PL clubs questioning Brighton's virus testing regime given they're supposed to be an agreed methodology that hasnt started yet.

Thing is, you might have a bit of trouble finding these stories because neither have big fuck off banner headlines to whip up the shouters and, both seem to be buried deep within the football pages.

The clubs near the bottom of the table do not want to play out their remaining games at neutral venues because they consider home advantage to be hugely important. That would be despite the fact that home advantage hasn't helped them very much so far this season, hence why they are down there at the bottom in the first place.

Or if you're Brighton you might be in the bottom 3 not out of it. I don't think it's possible to discount home advantage and doing so seems pointless to me.

However, it's about deciding the fairest and most sensible way out of this. Is neutral venues better than an alternative of finishing the season and still relegation? Right now I would think all of the bottom 6 are working to get relegation off the table or maybe reduced places (2 rather than 3 with 2 up?). It'll be like teams that wait for the end of the transfer window to do a deal, while there's not an agreement, anything is possible. By may 25th and they haven't made a choice the whole league faces a £1.2bn bill - imo only at that point may you see the teams in the relegation places today be prepared to play at neutral venues to save their skin.

That clear logic eludes them. Im certain even Mr Spock would have difficulty making them understand their claims.

Just award 3 points per game to every game left for each team. Who can moan.

everton fans will say we would have lost games so wouldnt be fair giving us 3 points every game especially for the derby where they'd have won eleventeen nil.
