Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has phoned the father of Kylian Mbappe to discuss the 21-year-old Paris St-Germain and France striker's next career move.

I suspect that was a very brief phone call.

Is it just me that thinks it's hilarious to see anti-FSG posts on here? They've been basically the best owners I could have imagined, have brought in the top analytics team in the business and taken us from a potential winding up order to the best team in Europe, but it's still not good enough for some.

I'm honestly not sure what more they could do. We don't want sugar daddies like PSG or City, but if FSG won't splash out without thinking to sign a 32-year old on big wages, they're skint bastards. Some of you are impossible to please!

On the pitch, they have improved immeasurably. Off the pitch, they're still susceptible to the occasional clanger.

And the Mirror the first to start it

Due to corona virus we will sign next to nobody in the summer and the youth team members ready to benefit from it.

No doubt Utd and City will still spend.

With the losses now being made that was always going to be the sensible thing to do. Whether it works is another case entirely. Will be interesting to see how City slip huge losses with massive spending past FFP.

Utd not making the CL might have an impact on their purchases.

It won't work, not in a season we lose Salah, Mane and Keita for over a month during the busiet part of the season

Don’t think we’ll be signing anyone so early for the new season, no one knows if it’s even gonna start as planned nor how. With so much uncertainty surrounding it and losing so much cash, we’re not gonna dive in so early. We won’t pay 50 odd mill for Werner, it would have been a bargain pre virus but with transfer fees bottoming out, not now. It unlikely there’ll even be any Champs League football. There’s so much uncertainty in the game right now, we’d be wise to hold until the game has a clear plan.

You can bet your mortgage fifa will push for African nations to go ahead as well.

FSG can well and truly get fucked if we don't buy an attacker

What's the deal w/the ANC anyways.  Surely it's postponed and the crunch will occur at some random time in the future.  But right now, given that and the signing of Minamino (surely signed to address the issue).  Is there an urgent problem?

UEFA are suspending it for a year, I think, so they’ll throw money at it this year the get a ‘biggest ever’ sponsor next year to cover it.

Are They? All I've seen is they will look into individual cases on a case by case basis. Spending big on players while losing your bollox won't be accepted.

There should be a spirit of the game rule. We relax the punishments for FFP during covid unless your clearly taking the piss. If corona is effecting your finances you shouldn't be going out spending a fortune on players anyway. FFP is to protect clubs and football this isn't just a plaything for bored billionaires, murderous states PR exercises nor should it be a money laundering operation for unscrupulous arseholes.
