Thought he was much improved in the middle yesterday. He still can try to overplay at times but his work rate and the defensive side of his game is noticeably improving. His trajectory is going the right way. Physically he looks strong as well which is good for a lad of his age.

It was a good performance from him, he took an extra touch too often still IMO, and slowed it down. But I don’t m expect his game to be perfect at 19.

Yeah, his positioning and game management were the best it's been, which was great to see.  There were a couple of times he was in a great position on the edge of their box and instead of playing it straight away would have a little think, or jink past someone, then the killer ball was gone.

Once he's got his feet under the table a bit more he'll be playing those balls or going past people and shooting quickly and be a real creative threat.

He'll be ahead of Keita in the pecking order by January.

Keita has on several occasions given some sensational performances, although admittedly it's been a while since the last one. I'm sure Klopp could turn him into a consistent performer if he ever stayed fit. A fit and in form Keita starts ahead of Jones for me.

Sensational, you say? Can you name them?

Even better, can you name any outside of the CL?

What a goal that was last night. I'm serious. You can't train a player to have the kind of nous he showed. He's going to have a long career with Liverpool (tackles from Bitter hatchetmen notwithstanding) and there will be many moments where the team profits from him just being that little bit smarter than the opposition.

What? Follow the flight of the ball and hit a simple tap in with the outside of the foot into an empty net? Behave, it was easy

At least someone's unhappy that he scored and we won.

Unhappy? Really? Made up but let’s not go overboard about the goal.

A lot of players would have given up on what looked like an overhit cross.”

Come on, it was a relatively easy finish.

Can when settle on:  it was a pretty nifty goal in the circumstances?
