Trying to limit it to those that are all about bank robbers.

Bonnie and Clyde

The Killers

The Silent Partner

The Town

Heat

"The Silent Partner" is a great movie about a bank robber (Christopher Plummer) and a bank teller (Elliot Gould) who play cat-and-mouse games after a robbery at the latter's bank.

Ooh nice, quite a few on there I haven't seen. I don't even think I've heard of The Funeral but that looks ace.

No chance The Irishman is better than Casino though. I do need to give it another watch.

Correct Stig. Casino is well underrated among mob movies.

Casino is brilliant, I don’t know anyone who underrates it???

 As is The Irishman.

I’d still have Casino as comfortably the better film but The Irishman was always going to suffer with all the bullshit surrounding it.

I watched it a second time several months after the first viewing and all the nonsense dying down and it’s an excellent film.

I’m not great at lists or rankings, but here’s six heist movies I love, in order of memory:

1. Heat

2. The Town

3. Inside Man

4. Den of Thieves

5. The Thomas Crown Affair (newer version)

6. Ocean’s 11 (Clooney version)

I couldn't get on with The Town, jibbed it off after 30 mins. Might have to give it another go.

No idea why, but the first time I watched I was underwhelmed. It’s really good though, as my approximately five rewatches attest.

I'll give it a second chance then. The set-up just seemed rushed and a bit contrived. Plus, I find Affleck wooden at times. Still, if enough people rate it then it's worth another go.

I think it's one of his best films actually. His new one (The Way Back) is really really good. He plays an alcoholic and it was filmed when he was struggling himself.

Agree it’s good. The Town is several notches higher though, for me.

I really like Affleck. He’s very talented as both an actor and a director. Not a bad writer, either, come to think of it with that statue to show for it. His career still feels a little underwhelming though, which is weird.

Casino is a superb film. I got about an hour into The Irishman and switched it off. Not because I thought it was shite or anything but because we had a relative staying and she did nothing but fucking yak. It did look decent for what I saw of it though.

I keep meaning to watch it again, but never quite got round to it.
