Together, Kane and Son have now combined for 35 Premier League goals, one behind the record held by Chelsea’s Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard. Newcastle remain winless and sit 19th in the table. Meanwhile, Jamal Khashoggi is still dead.

Thought it was poor sportsmanship by the Newcastle players, especially St Maximin, not putting the ball out of play for the Spurs player down injured after the Spurs players had played a part getting the game stopped for the fan to recieve urgent medical attention.

Sure, it's up to the ref to stop the game for head injuries and there's no requirement for players to put the ball out when an oppo is injured. Normally, Id say it's fine to not do so but in this instance, it left a bit of a nasty taste. It wasnt like Spurs players were going down feigning injury.

Funny how the only other team to vote against it was City.  Corrupt, financial doping motherfuckers

Amazing;

Police are investigating an alleged racist gesture made by a person to Tottenham fans during Sunday's Premier League game at Newcastle United.

Spurs won 3-2 in Newcastle's first game following a takeover of the club.

"An investigation is under way and the police have been made aware," said a Magpies statement.

"Discrimination has absolutely no place in football, in the street, online or in wider society and we will not tolerate it under any circumstances."

The club added they "will pursue the strongest possible action against anyone involved in discriminatory behaviour and will support any efforts by the authorities to secure a criminal conviction."

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: "We can confirm we are investigating an alleged racist incident during Newcastle United's home fixture with Tottenham at St James' Park on Sunday.

"Enquiries are ongoing with the club to identify anyone involved and ascertain whether criminal offences have been committed."

Jonathan Liew is a quality writer. Substance with a great turn of phrase.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest that Newcastle will probably have enough money to spend £500m on Kane and/or whoever without sponsorship deals.

Yeah funny that the only two clubs to vote against the PL new, temporary rule banning owner sponsorship deals included Newcastle especially when you consider at least 1 of the Chief Execs at one of the other 14 smaller clubs said they were 'very comfortable' with Newcastle's takeover and likely influx of money because it 'only affected the top 6.'

The dope didnt seem to realise it meant his club now has one less perenial relegation candidate to fight against going forward. Clearly someone had pointed out the error in his logic to him

It would be great if this rule change was made permanent and made to stick. Newcastle are already making noises that it is restrictive and likely illegal. If it was that simple, makes you wonder why the PL clubs didnt vote for this years ago.

I don’t see how it could be illegal if the other clubs voted for it. Surely they could vote to ban shirt sponsors and have a league-wide kit manufacturer if they wanted to? Or are all American sports illegal?

Will be interesting to see which manager accepts the job. Fair fucks to Rodgers if he really did rule himself out straight away.

Of course Klopp was the only manager to speak out about any of it, in a week when Solksjaer  - a dreadful football manager but one whose voice is amplified given his club -  had a go at Rashford for his fantastic work for others and improving the reputation of footballers.
