Looks like might be a team similar to Villa in League Cup in replay.

Jurgen Klopp tells @talkSPORT a young Liverpool team will play in the replay at Anfield because the senior players will be on a break.

Fair enough as far as I’m concerned. Apparently also said Neil Critchley will manage it.

Shocking performances from the senior players bar Adrian. Combination of complacency and arrogance.  This isn't the first time they've been shamed by the effort of the youngsters.

Jurgen should let them own it and play the same team in the replay.  They could probably do with a game because they won't be getting in the first team for a while except for injury.

Exactly this. Said it all season we shold jib the cups and just because we're nailed on for the title now, Im not changing my tune. The CL is a higher priority than a treble especially when we've already won 2 trophies this season. The same team should play Shrewsbury at Anfield and if it isnt good enough to win, it isnt good enoughto win, simple as.

As for those two in the middle of defence, Gomez and Nat Phillips put in a far better performance than them against a PL attack, albeit everton. Let that sink in for a moment. Matip and Lovren were made to look the same level as their League One opponents today.

Basic failure of game management. If you keep the ball, and pass to each other, you don't lose the fecking game. It's what's wrong with the under 23 league. Most of the kids are so used to piss-poor competitive games, you get this mentality where they try vague punts upwards and passes to players with no one around them that they think that's how to play. Just keep the damn ball - you'd be amazed, the opposition get really frustated and tired out without it. Horrible performance.

Piss poor.

The youngsters barely got into the game, and the experienced pros did very little to help the situation. The trio of Big Bird, Degsy and Fab looked rusty as fuck. Degsy actually was doing alright but the faffing about at the back in the second half, coupled with the missed clearance that resulted in the equaliser means that he has to be lumped into the "must do better" category. Big Div was the worst of the lot until he moved central, and even then he was only just about awake. One good effort to test the keeper is a poor showing. Minamino flitted in and out of the game and wasted a very good opportunity in the first half.

Man Bun was the most disappointing of the youngsters. He just never got into the game. Larouci was OK and unfortunate that his foul was deemed to be inside the box when it wasn't. Jones and Chirivella did OK too, especially when combining to great effect for the opener. That was a superb pass by the Spaniard, and he's unlucky that his overall display was dragged down by the complacency of those around him.

Even when we went 2-0 up in fortuitous circumstances, we were awful on the ball, allowing Shrewsbury to get their tails up. It's like those shitshows of years gone by in this competition when we allowed the likes of Mansfield, Oldham, Exeter and Plymouth to give us a game. Those sides were having nothing seasons but raised their game against us, and we simply did not reciprocate.

Now we have a needless additional fixture which will take place without any first teamers.
