This government is abhorrent.

Fucking Tories.

You can just see Mr & Mrs makeBritaingreatagain sitting on their sofa cheering Hancocks achievement without the slightest bit of interest that they’re being lied to by their fucking government. All so an over promoted prefect can pretend he’s met his performance target.

This is low.

Why do it when you know that you’re going to be found out.

Because only so many people will see the truth. The tory spin won't allow the masses to know about their lies will they. Can you see Laura Kuntburger drilling them on it?

That's the bad news: most likely cheating to hit the meaningless round number by the meaningless self-imposed deadline for propaganda purposes.

Good news is that after long last they have managed to increase testing considerably over the recent period.

Exactly. It was a really stupid promise, and being shifty about it just erodes what little trust they have left. They could quite legitimately have said they're getting close and will continue to increase testing. They'd have got some flak, but this just makes things worse.

The fundamental difference between the right and the left is that the left think the mob is capable of great things and that with only a little encouragement and education it will embrace high-minded principles and complex ideas, the right believes the mob is largely retarded and only capable of understanding three word mantras that will be believed as long as they're repeated often. The right would appear to be correct.

For every pre-war socialist academic trying to set up workers' communes there was a Jackbooted former chicken farmer espousing "make italy/spain/germany" great again and winning royally.

The white van man was always the stormtrooper of Thatcherism. Copy of the s*n on his dashboard and shit between his ears.

There'll be a statue of Johnson on a plinth by 2025.

They've stopped saying "ramping up" now that the wonderful target - which hasn't been manipulated at all - has been hit.

It's just one big circle jerk. Cummings choreographed shitfest.

What do you reckon the next will be?

All of the above.

I won't be watching them anymore, every single person who takes part in the briefings boils my piss beyond belief.

Nothing less than criminal charges against this government and their scientific advisers will suffice, in my opinion.  They should all be prosecuted and locked up.

I'm working from home, my wife is a primary teacher. We have a two year old and a six year old. Yesterday the six year old did her first formal home schooling. She's always doing crafts and drawing and loves writing so haven't really put her under pressure to "do school work". The school has dished out loads of work to do, but we just haven't really bothered. Some other parents have complained there hasn't been enough work - they basically want the kids tied up in work from 9 til 4.

The two year old is usually in nursery full time. She has come on leaps and bounds with us this last 6 weeks.

The whole thing has been a bit of a novelty and an adventure for them to be honest!

We will have more people dead than Italy next week (we almost certainly already have, but I’m talking the official figures). By rights that should be the moment of truth when the whole media start to get angry with the way this government has handled this crisis. I won’t hold my breath.
