It's OK I know mine. Cunts the same one's that weren't out for the NHS worker's.

That’s not an indicator. I was one of the only ones not out round ours for the NHS workers.

Fucking no chance i’m joining in with the virtue signaling of all the Tory voters around here.

I show my support and love of the NHS when I go to the ballot box, not when i’m standing at my door clapping them for a minute. Back stabbing Tory cunts the lot of them.

As far as Johnson is concerned, I don’t want him to die. He may turn out to be a cunt in the same vein as Maggie (who I did want to die) but for now I don’t think anyone is justified in wishing death on him.

Having said that if it happens, it happens.

All the best to your Ma, Jordy.

It may sound cynical to say it but, all of Johnson's hubris and arrogance in his words, thoughts and actions in everything relating to Covid-19 may be coming back to him with the ultimate price to be paid. His attitude early on, with regard to 'herd-immunity' suggested that it was a disease for the plebs to catch and that it would kill a great number of people, but that was a price willing to be paid.

He then went on to brazenly show contempt for the most basic scientific guidelines of not shaking hands with people, almost bragging, as if the rules were for other lesser mortals and not for a man of his position and power. The same kind of arrogance that afflicts his counterpart across the Atlantic. He's acted throughout, like he believed he was immune to it, and may have believed that even if he became infected, that he would be able to self isolate and it would all go away and he'd be able to claim he'd be strong enough to fight it off.

All of that would be swept aside in a wave of media emotion and martyrdom if he were to die. One can only wonder if he has any regrets about his words and actions now as the stakes are raised.

Hope your mother recovers and as quickly as possible Jordy.

With Johnson he could have several problems that made it worse like has already been mentioned. Stress of the job especially during all of this, his weight and I remember someone mentioned he could be a drinker too which could make things worse if it's heavy drinking that's been going on for a while. I think people's diet will be a factor as well. Eating a lot of inflammatory foods, too much sugary stuff, lack of vitamins and minerals from fruit and veg, etc, could all add up to make things worse and weaken the immune system. I'm surprised that's not really been a focus during any of this either.

It's assumed that being PM will give him access to the best medicines, but if people around him have been so clueless during this who's to say they're even suggesting any of that? There's a drug from Cuba (Interferon Alfa-2B. Another page here where there's problems getting it into Germany) that's been used in China but no idea if anyone treating Johnson would even consider that (or any of the others that could prove to work well enough).

And if someone's in intensive care maybe it's not a good idea to add a mixture of different drugs so it could still be guesswork to some extent working out what the best treatment is.

Many countries that have it more or less under control now will be relaxing measures after Easter.

Define ‘under control’.
Unless we know exactly what this Corona Virus is and how to treat it etc. then we don’t know how to control it.

Yeah can see how he has a point even though I don't find it funny personally. Have been following him for a while (since US primaries got moving), he seems like a decent guy generally.

The current guinea pig looks to be China, as they've opened up both Hubei and Wuhan.

I do wonder to what extent they're allowing people out of the region, and what sort of precautions they're taking.

It seems improbable to me that just because they've reduced the number of cases substantially it won't take off again once movement restrictions are reduced and the economy is restarted.

I hope they're taking good notes.

They seem good at organising on the community level and have learned how to stop it, so if it starts up again there's no way it'll flare up like it did at first I don't think. I linked an article back here somewhere about a guy that was in China as they dealt with it and thought it was interesting, no idea where it is now but am off to search for it so it can be bookmarked (forgot to first time). Will link if/when I find it.

It's only a 377 page thread, shouldn't take long.

edit : Found it by going through posts from my profile : Locked down in Beijing, I watched China beat back the coronavirus

I see there's studies being fast tracked into the benefits of the old TB vaccine the BCG.

The only two countries where it was compulsory to receive it was Ireland and Portugal.

The Portuguese so far only have 209 deaths, compared to their neighbours, the Spanish, who wildly weren't vaccinated against tb, that does seem odd.

Go the BCG - hurt like a motherfucker, which may have been down to expectations with everyone winding each other up about what was gonna happen.

Yes, but who was it that said that there is no country in the world whatever ideology they have, the majority will always live under the boot of the elite.

Capitalist, Socialist or whatever there will always be an elite sadly, there will always be and always has been that most distasteful element of  human nature which is greed.

Obviously money talks, always has and will, but wouldn't there be some private arrangements as opposed to an NHS hospital?

Saying that though I doubt any private practice would have been prepared or equipped to deal with this shit. Otherwise I think that would be the case, as with millions of others who could afford it, so perhaps money can't talk loud enough this time.

You shouldn't wish ill of people but the whole Tory policy, signed off by Johnson, was/is for as much of the population to catch it as possible with loss of life being an acceptable part of that. Funny probably isn't the best description but ironic is.

Easing restrictions because the death rates are easing off would be foolhardy imo. You don't corral a wild horse then leave the gate open thinking it will be easier to catch it a second time if it escapes, you have to break it first. People are finding it hard to follow the guidelines as it is, give them an inch and the cunts will take a yard. The old and vulnerable will still be under threat and although many will help them there are far too many selfish cunts who don't adhere to the guidelines. If they get it wrong then it could be an unmitigated disaster.

Spoke to my cousin the A&E nurse last night, and my mate the GP who had Cornoavirus and ended up on oxygen, and both of them think Johnson's done for. Not many who reach ICU are surviving when they are overweight and 55+. I'm sure he'll get the best possible care, but even if he makes it, he won't be leading the government any time soon.

So, we're left with Raab!

I think the game would soon be up if he was. I think he's a goner myself either that or he'll have longer term health issues from this.

I'd like him to survive, just because if he doesn't, everybody is going to think they are going to die & that won't be a nice environment for anyone.

I listened to a quick podcast on London Reel today. I heard they had that demented twat David Icke on, but didn't find that one. Instead there was some cunt absolutely thriving on this situation and telling people it was their own fault for eating too much sugar and having the wrong attitude towards money. Absolute weirdo!

He's possibly on one but the powers that be don't want to say it

Why would he be in intensive care if he not on one. Again more spin from the soundbite party. They know they are going to get shite about 1. NHS funding 2.Lack of ventilators 3.testing kits. Boris has now availed of all these things something his party either caused or was responsible for. Ok hope he lives but I wouldn't put it past that DC to encourage Boris's Drs to advise he goes to ICU unit for the sympathy it will induce.
