One person in quarantine at my local hospital. This is the beginning of the end for me. I’d like to leave all my rep points to Champ and I can only pray that my cookies arrive before they cart me off in one of those tents.

Has officially reached the stage of people hoping it's a global pandemic which wipes out half the population of the earth so that they can be proven right online about how dangerous they say this is.

What’s the difference between this & swine flu? My wife & sister caught that. Both mid-20s, poorly for a few days & then went.

 

I don’t seem to remember the panic stations over that like there is this.

Been Googing...

 

Apparently there have been 84k confirmed cases (likely more) and 2.9k deaths worldwide.
 

So a 3.5% death rate is obviously higher than Swine Flu. As I’m writing this, I’m sure I read somewhere it was 1%, I can’t remember.

 

Anyway, there are 22 confirmed cases in the UK. I’m rushing down to B&Q to some dusk masks yet.

My lad had it and was extremely sick for a week. We didn't catch it which is the underlying point . Coronavirus is much more contagious and people are infectious without symptoms. Even if the mortality rate is low if some of the numbers for possible infections over the next couple of years are half true then lots will die. On top of this there is the chance it could mutate into something more deadly. A vaccine is probably several years away and far from it being hyped up I suspect we are not being told about the very real damage this could do if the spread can't be contained.
