Is it fuck the first death either.   My grandad passed away last week, 91, from pneumonia.    No test.

My condolences mate, but as you say, he had a good innings. Still doesn't ease the pain, and the lack of a test considering he died of pneumonia is shocking.

Same over here, they are also running school holiday services. I've noticed one of the main Taxi firms have their drivers wearing masks and they must be making a killing as there's more taxi's on the roads than DHL vans! You can bet your arse that they use the same old mask day in day out and just lob it on the table at the end of the day. I'd love to know where they got all their masks from considering hospitals are crying out due to a shortage, maybe's from that factory that was robbed in Köln the other day.

i know its easy at thw minute to bash to chinese, but arent they in general, scruffy bastards?

Apparently shitting on the streets is as common as littering over there.

A good friend of my brothers lives in Hng Kong, but since he's been livng over there he's been to mainland China quite often. He was saying the level of filth, and i dont mean litter, but filth, in mainland china is mind blowing.

No wonder all these crazy things come over there. Then add in the fact they're basically living within spitting distance of each other, then anything is going to spread to like wildfire.

Actually thats why the tend to wear the surgical masks. its not so much to stop getting sick, but more so if you are sick, so that you dont spread it.

I went to Hong Kong and mainland China about 15 years ago.

Our tour guide in Hong Kong got on the subject of food and said "Chinese will eat anything that flies apart from a plane, anything that has four legs that is not a table and anything in water that is not a boat".

We went to Guanghzhou from Hong Kong and outside the city it looks modern, you would think you were on a newly built highway in the USA but the city itself was ridiculously dirty. The quality of air was very poor and it instantly felt like the sun had gone behind dark clouds.

Went past 2 fellas playing cards and smoking in the street they had a cage full of green snakes. One of them reached in and pulled one out, snapped its head then started skinning it on the floor with a knife that hadn't been cleaned for god knows how long.

We came out of the shop opposite about 5 minutes later and they were cooking it in a pan on a small camping stove they cut it up and had it with some rice. Then just carried on playing cards.

A woman opposite had a fish stall and was hosing down the fish on the floor then cut them up. I thought that everyone would come and buy the fish but they just bought the fish heads and took them away in small bags.

I didn't eat Chinese food for about 5 years after that.

Also went on a bus in Hong Kong and everyone was spitting greenies on the floor of the bus. I feel sorry for the driver of the 10A but this was another level.

Last year when I was working in a production factory.   We had to wear those masks in certain areas.    Someone from outside was in doing tests to see how useful they were.   Due to the dust we'd be breathing.

A good 50 percent of us failed.   Anyone with facial hair, they didn't fit properly at all.    Ended up needing a big stormtrooper style helmet for proper protection.

The factory made a lot of noise about us shaving,  ordered one massive helmet thing, which I never seen.    The outside firm fucked off and within a week, we were back to wearing the cheap white masks.

Not great news for anyone expecting them to work.

Our national head doctor just said on the radio that he was 100% sure there were two type of covid19, one thats mild with very little symptoms and one that is much worse. He did not have proof at the moment but genetic test on the samples taken should help clear things up soon.

Viruses mutate, don’t they. It’s why there’s the guessing game each year as to which strain of flu to mass inoculate people against. This may not just be a crack one vaccine and we’re sorted situation, in my view.

Everything I've read about that seems to state that mutations pretty much always make viruses milder.

Why are the government relying on doctors and specialists, why aren't the government getting physiotherapists to treat people, find a cure and deal with this crisis, surely they're better qualified. (like they did with the PIP)

Oh and I am sorry to hear of the passing of your grandad Grinch.

On a positive note the water in the canals around Venice are crystal clear and have fish swimming in them again.

Dolphins apparently.

I also saw some graphic that showed the levels of pollutions in China from a few months ago compared to now. Chalk and cheese (no they weren't burning these).

Yeah, pollution levels have dropped dramatically due the lack of traffic both on land and in the air. The UK may get a proper summer.

True. Fuck’s sake. I’m climbing the walls if I have to go without the internet for more than about 5 minutes. That said, bar the odd programme on iPlayer and ITV Hub, I don’t stream anything. Freeview or DVDs.

Send ITV and the BBC some strongly worded emails demanding that they change their schedules to Christmas-like ones.
