She was big enough to withdraw it. A few people could learn a thing or two from that.

Just seen that.

No need to panic. It’s only 3 separate regions at least.  Nothing to see. Unless you live in one of those 3 regions.

This is intensive care beds, not general beds. I’m guessing he was t checked over in ICU. Hope he’s ok.

Thanks mate - there’s loads of similar stuff flying about it seems. Fucking horrible day. Just glad to have got him home and hoping the docs are right that he will recover soon. Poor little lad. This fucking heat isn’t helping either? It could do with fucking off really

Both the missus and I had our phones ping this evening from track and trace, just looked at each other thinking fucks sake.

The eldest only finished 10 days self isolating yesterday.

We’ve both been doing LFT’s daily and as we’ve both been negative throughout have been able to continue working.

But this would be 10 days self isolating and cheerio to the family holiday next week.

You can imagine our total fucking shock when we both had the exact same message!

So we both were meant to be self isolating for the last 10 days but had heard fuck all from track and trace.

She’s been working in a health club with people of all ages and I’ve been supporting two guys who are at high risk due to medical conditions.

What a complete fucking shit show of a system they’ve spent billions on lining the pockets of mates.

Fucking incompetent cunts.

His finished today, at 9.06 this morning after 6 minutes of no home schooling granddaughters school say she needs picking up.

Assuming that much is true.

But it isn't covid which is responsible, it's respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). There's a surge in winter viruses like RSV at the moment, which is a direct result of the restrictions we've been under.

As COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted in recent weeks, there's been a surge in respiratory illnesses that usually peak during the winter months.

Infections other than COVID fell over the past year due to limits on socialising, improved hygiene and mask wearing. This reduced the build-up of antibodies that protect people against illness, creating what experts are calling an "immunity debt".

The UK is already beginning to see an uptick in respiratory illnesses such as RSV, a common respiratory virus that causes bronchiolitis.

More than three in five children usually catch RSV by their first birthday, but public health officials believe that lockdowns and school closures meant many have escaped infection.

That means fewer children are immune to RSV, which in turn has led to a rise in cases as restrictions are lifted. In the week to 4 July, RSV positivity in England increased to 3.4% from just 0.1% two months earlier, according to Public Health England (PHE) data.

As early as May, PHE issued a warning about a potential surge in cases in the coming autumn and winter. Its modelling suggests that between 20% and 50% more cases will need hospitalisation, requiring a doubling of paediatric intensive care beds later in the year, according to reporting by the Health Service Journal.

RSV is more deadly for young children than COVID. It accounts for more than 5% of global deaths in under-fives, according to the 2015 Global Burden of Disease Study.

A similar surge is expected in flu cases, which have been in the low single figures in England over the past year, according to the Datamart flu surveillance system. In most years, there are between 10,000 and 30,000 deaths from flu in the UK.

Neil Ferguson, an epidemiologist at Imperial College London, told the BBC Today programme: "All the measures we adopted against COVID around the world drove flu to very low levels and basically nobody got infected with flu last year.

"I think we do need to be prepared for a potentially quite significant flu epidemic later this year."

Countries that have eased COVID restrictions are already seeing a surge in respiratory illnesses. In the US, ten times as many antigen tests for RSV are now coming back positive than at the end of February.

So where does it say the beds in ICU are taken up with these winter viruses?  Have I missed it?

And when kids do go to hospital with Covid, the fact that the beds aren’t full of other Covid kids means nothing.  They are full.

I love how my claims always require proof where others don't. Fortunately there always is proof.

Kids aren't going to hospital with covid. Kids are going to hospital with RSV, because when we had the choice, we chose to protect people in their 80s instead.

I always ask for proof or call bullshit.  You know this.

And that doesn’t say what you said. Unless I missed it.

The triage nurse told us today that they were getting bombarded with these winter viruses with kids who haven’t been exposed to them before due to being locked down most of their young lives.

We seem to have reached a new phase in the fight where people have to get vaccinated, or a vaccinated person might get sick from the virus that they were vaccinated against because other people are not vaccinated. I think we're gonna win this thing.

Went to a garden centre today. Obviously it was mostly older people so everyone had masks on. Stopped at Sainsbury’s on the way home and almost every person that looked under 30 were demonstrating their freedom. All the checkout kids and old ladies wearing masks, now even more at risk of getting this shit at work than they were before. Marvellous.

Isn’t this the Great Barrington experiment?  It’s ripping through us and people can’t go to work and the shelves are bare.

Edit: except when they proposed it we didn’t have a vaccine so the deaths would be catastrophic. But only old people.  So fuck em.

This is a mental experiment that is in its infancy.  Young uns just spreading this exponentially, clapped home by Tory wankers.

God help us all.

Pub right now.  They just don't give a fuck.

In fairness they have been on lockdown for 16 months, and they have now been given the ok to do this. Added to the rumours that we are heading back in to another lockdown at some point, this sort of behaviour was inevitable.

I'd have been exactly the same at their age.

This is exactly what those Tory Cunts want, they want society to start blaming each other rather than pointing the finger at them.

Said this to my 17 year old step lad and his girlfriend earlier after I picked them up from the train station. They went on a cute little day trip to Yarmouth, so mostly outdoors except for the trains, and had similar experiences to me as far as masks go. Said it was 50/50 down there. I told them that the cunt government want us all judging one another, whichever side of the mask debate you’re on and there’ll always be some dickheads causing scenes in some places over it. That’s where we are as a country.

Lucky this didn't happen last winter, given that the health service was swamped with Covid patients.
