They are already rich. This is about the one percent, power and control. You don't need to make them millions if you are in shitty jobs on universal credit and under control. look at the chinese system. They reward you with being complicit in everything, its sinister as heck. You've been a bad citizen this month, no money, no internet and a travel restriction for you.

Bollocks!

This variant is likely to be much more transmissable than even the Kent variant and it's not yet fully known if the current vaccines are effective against it. This is why they're worried- https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/may/14/india-covid-variant-could-lead-to-third-wave-uk

If we have to lockdown again, then that's utter shit, but we've seen the consequences of not taking action several times before- we end up having to shut down for longer to get it under control.

Modelling in the quote looks totally insane, as if there is no immunity from vaccines and 30% of population that already had the virus whatsoever.

Keep in mind that if Johnson had done his job properly last year then we'd probably be pretty much back to normal by now, ie if we had followed "fake Sage's" advice. We'd have a decent test and trace system that could cope with variants. All our current problems stem from a reluctance to make the tough decisions early on.

He wasn't even attending the initial Cobra meetings was he? Complete cluster-fuck of it. I find it difficult to lay any blame with the scientists, they have no decision making power.

Hmm - not sure about that. We all praised Germany for their response and they are in the midst of a 3rd wave and another lockdown.

I think we could have saved a lot more lives, but I still think we were getting hit hard. And I am not sure Australia's response is palatable to us.

Just got a phone call from the contact tracers here in Ireland, I'm a close contact. Absolutely no idea who.

Got a test just after 6 and am currently self isolating in my bedroom while the poor missus is looking after a 5 and 2 year old. Hopefully I'm negative, otherwise it'll be two weeks in the bedroom......

Cheers pal.

I'm so bloody careful and genuinely don't take any chances, I haven't seen anyone this past year, my best mate only lives around the corner and I haven't seen him since last year, no joke. I'd hate to stumble at the final hurdle

Hope you are negative, but how did you end up on the contact list if you didn't see anyone? Don't they tell you who it is?

Was in the pharmacy yesterday and bumped into (literally) one of the store clerks. We both apologized and went our separate ways and was only then I realized its the first time I've bumped into anyone in over a year. Very weird.

Nah, the vaccine changed everything, track and trace, close down this, fence off that means shit, it’s a virus and would have found a way through no matter the measures, the vaccine was the game changer not a lack of any measures taken

Worry about variants is fine but this thing about every new one potentially evading vaccines every single time is such a load of fear porn shite.

The Pfizer vaccine is apparently very good against the Indian variant.  I think they're keeping very quiet on the AZ one.

China had it right.  Board the cunts up in their homes.  This isn't difficult to control now, it's just about individuals making some sensible choices each day.  If they are unwilling to do that then they are a threat to us all.  This is all going to unravel very quickly if we rely on communities in Blackburn and Bolton to act in the best interests of the country.   What a  fucking mess.

Next week I’m seeing one of my mates from work for the first time in over year. She’s one of our lawyers and just before lockdown found out her long term partner had been cheating on her.  How she’s coped over the last 15 months is beyond me.
