Know a guy who's been trying to get back to the UK for his fathers funeral, who died through Covid, and the lad can't make it due to the ban and if he did, he wouldn't be able to get back in to Holland. Devastating for the fella.

I know someone in pretty much identical circumstances. A terrible state of affairs.

Yeah

There is no dignity or respect given with this bastard disease.

The death and the amount of death is terrible, but the lack of respect in the passing - alone, family distanced, or not allowed to be near those who have passed, little or no support in grieving, nothing more than an elbow touch or kind words from 2 meters. The tragedy behind the death is as sickening and as heartbreaking, as the deaths themselves.

Where are the voices fighting for justice and action for the 1820 dead?

Where's Kier Cuntface? Not a single word from him. The death figures were announced 6 fucking hours ago.

Maybe he can call another another press conference and tell us what a useless shite he is.

We need some of this shit:

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/oct/15/french-police-search-officials-homes-coronavirus-inquiry

Nothing like this would ever happen in this country.  Any inquiry will be delayed for years and then then dragged out for even more years.

Johnson will be nowhere to be seen and living it up on the after dinner speakers circuit raking in thousands of thousands of pounds. Probably telling tales about how he managed to single handily get us our sovereignty back and won the war against coronavirus at the same time with his incredible vaccine role out.

That would mean protests, would it not? It could be argued that people have turned against the Goverment by breaking the rules that they have set up.

The time for that is when we are out of the danger zone, not in the eye of the storm.

The only problem there is that the general UK population will have forgot and will be busy getting pissed up to be bothered.

Dad, 86, not a peep.

Apart from my friend’s mum, who lives in East Lothian,  I haven’t heard of another person in the over 80s group to have had it

I think in Scotland they are really trying to target the care homes due to the stick Nicola got first time round for that, I hope your dad gets it soon. My folks haven't heard yet while my aunt in the North West had it today.

I'm sorry to hear people have relatives and friends in hospital I hope they get better.

We managed to vaccinate 700+ yesterday including a decent chunk of the high risk renal patients. We had load of community care workers too the relief was palpable on some peoples faces.

Ended up working 19 hours yesterday with that and the national data updates for the patient group I'm involved with. To be fair yesterday while busy was infinitely better than the day beforehand when we scrapping the barrel running around the hospital trying to get the scared and the refuseniks from the staff to have theirs.

It's mad how group think works, I was on one step down ward where two of the nursing staff are ardent antivaxxers* and it's just spread to the rest of them, I and a SpR went to each of them individually managed to get one domestic cleaner, one nurse and one caterer to come. There was a HCA (healthcare assistant) who I spoke to who said she didn't want it as she wanted to see how the other staff felt afterwards, we were standing all of 2 meters away from a woman of her age who had just been moved from ICU and was on oxygen support, baffling... the forces personnel who were there at the time couldn't get their head around it

I think the general disinformation in the population is having a deleterious impact on the staff given comments I've heard (even regarding family members). I challenged a couple of lads on the bus this morning about it when they were gassing loudly about not getting the lockdowns (of course with their masks around their chins). One of them said "they show us bodies all the time on the news of war zones why don't they show us what's happening".

*The stuff they were quoting at me was the usual shite in the population, but the thing they kept returning to was they didn't 'believe' in the vaccines, I'm not really sure where you can go at that point other than to leave the door open i.e. that they can speak to the lead pharmacist/ ID/ microbiology consultants.

This is the first time in this crisis where the rhetoric from the Scottish government doesn’t seem to fit the reality. I have no issue with the care homes for older people being the priority group but I’ve just checked and there only are about 1100 care homes with a total of 38000 residents so what’s going on?

They’ve told some GP’s/Pharmacists that they will be removed from the vaccination program and face other potential sanction if they give people their second dose within 12 weeks.

Also talk that some northern areas will have their vaccine allocations halved next week as they're being too efficient at getting them into arms and the rest of the country needs to catch up.

Even by their standards that’s some amazing fuzzy logic, you’re just too good at this, stop!

I read something similar, I think it was they’re not allowing them to move to the next band until all other regions have and throwing supplies at those areas lagging.

Isnt it supposed to be given within 12 weeks for it to be as effective as possible. Do they just want to single dose everybody so stats look good even though its hugely wasteful and dumb as fuck not to do what the creators have specified.

Bingo!

One dose provides some immunity, the second pretty much guarantees.

I’m not sure it’s quite as cynical, but it looks like they’re trying to get the first jab done ASAP to raise herd immunity in the general population so we can kickstart the economy.

The makers have spoken out about this, as did Fauci, before he was slapped down and told not to stoke fear.

You’re still getting yours though, right?

Yeah, mine’s being done locally at a GP surgery round the corner. Well, the first dose. I’ve read you get told the date of dose 2 when you attend for it, but will find out for sure on Saturday.

Yep that’s basically a “go on we know you’ll all push the rules and mix up to 14 so do it so we can blame you cunts”

That 15+ is a joke isn't it?

It comes to something when I genuinely don't know if that is real or not.

Edit: Holy fuck it's real.

I'm done. Just fuck off.

    • You must mean big league because there aren't many bigger clubs around than his current team
    • His stats for stealing a fucking living are absolutely sky-high.
    • the more i watch of thiago is he looks a slightly less mobile version of gini. i know everyone says thiago's passing is great, but i am convinced that's just because he plays no look passes, i don't see any benefit over what gini contributes. maybe i am wrong, but i reckon we got thiago as gini's replacement, but we were able to fund it early by selling brewster and using lallana's wages and if barca had bid enough for gini, we'd have snatched their hands off. thank fuck they didn't. no way he's here next year though sadly. let's hope we get someone to add value using gini's wages - fuck knows where the fee will come from.
    • I think you're right but I wish you weren't.    I don't  get why the club paid what it did for Thiago along with his wages yet not sort out a deal for Gini when there's very little age difference and he's already on the books.   He's a cracking player Gini, fit,  reliable and hard working. It doesn't make sense to me that he hasn't been offered a deal.   Because of his importance to the team, as far as I'm concerned,  it's a no brainer.
    • I've said I think if VVD stayed fit, this wouldn't be the problem it is.    As for this complete drop off, it has coincided with playing Henderson in defence and his place going to thiago - if I recall correctly Henderson's 1st game at centre back was Southampton, which was thiago's 1st start and this was our 1st defeat of the run we've had this year. That was the point our midfield stopped, except for the brief support it got from milner, when we actually picked up some points. So we dipped off when we 1st lost VVD, but the collapse went once we doubled down on destroying the midfield to support the defence. However, that didn't need to happen. We could have gone out and found someone and got it all signed and sealed like we did with VVD 3 years previous and he was ready to go. Once they waited till Gomez got injured, then everyone in the market place would fuck us. But it didn't take a genius to see he'd get injured, it's what he does.   It's massively bad planning. Going into the season the risk with vvd was there to see. We should have had plans in place in case this happened. We didn't need to act on it, but it's basic common sense if you're taking a gamble is you protect your position if it goes wrong. It shouldn't have taken both Gomez and Matip to get injured to see a reaction.    As for you comment about a rebuild - well we clearly need one soon as it's an aging squad. Assuming the players come back from injury at the level they were at before, I say carragher is right and we need 3 right through the spine. 2 of them should just be replacements for origi and Gini. The only one net new should be at centre back - and while unlikely, perhaps he's already at the club.
