Yes because I am mirroring the possessive tense used in the question. I’m not in my my office, I’m in my house. It would be asymmetrical and awkward to say “I’m not in MY office, I’m in THE house”.

I was messing, you don't have to explain yourself.

Interesting that I is a capital letter but you isn't. There's a lot to be said for capital letters demonstrating importance to a subject.

Before we went into lockeown and we were tier 2 and Cheshire was tier 3, two police vans pulled up on speke Road, built a road block and started pulling woolybacks over and sending them home, it took me 40 years but I finally realised my dream.

One of my distant cousin's in Canada had blood clots and they thought he'd suffered a minor heart attack too. They were initially investigating whether he had lung cancer. He doesn't and they now think that all his ongoing problems are down to long covid. He's relatively young and in good health.

It's mad how the virus can do next to nothing to some relatively healthy people and then totally fuck over others.

And, I hope your sister gets well soon.

Really appreciated pal.

I caught the first few minutes of Granada News earlier. They were saying that cases (positive tests?) have quadrupled in Halton/Knowsley/Merseyside in the last week. That’s just staggering. Where I live avoided it for the most part first time around but now the local hospital is maxed out. 170 Covid ICU beds all being used. Scary shit. I can’t see Matt Hancock popping along for quick photo opportunity like he’s done in the past anytime soon. I dread to think what it’s like at Addenbrookes in Cambridge where I see a specialist. It’s a much bigger hospital serving a much wider area and treating patients that smaller hospitals can’t.

A couple of weeks ago I wouldn’t have thought twice about nipping into a shop/supermarket for a loaf and a bottle of milk. Now I don’t even want to answer the door.

Thank fuck we pulled back from that 'let it rip' herd immunity/ 'everyone's already it'/ 'yeah but T-Cells' bullshit, the country would have been destroyed. As it is, it feels like it's on the brink.

A lot of egg on a lot of faces. But yeah, thank fuck.

Meanwhile last lockdown 72% of primary schools has less than 10 of pupils in. This time round only 17% are reporting numbers that low.

Our numbers are growing daily. One day next week there will be 19 children in my POD from 3 classes, 2 of which I have been seperate from since September.

Our school is being quite strict with who they let in and who they don't but some parents are desperate to work and, if we're honest, some parents don't want to home school their child because it's so fucking hard.

Primary schools in England still 'rammed' with pupils, say heads

One of Izzy’s mates is in school.  Her parents are divorced, kid lives with mum. Dad owns a logistics firm so is allegedly a key worker. He never has her, and even if he did he doesn’t do any work, he’s at home all day or playing golf.

Well surprise surprise - someone in the wife's class tested positive so they're all in isolation now. After having Covid all over Christmas, she got out of Isolation just in time to go to school for the new term and be surrounded by 18 kids for a week, and is now back in isolation.

We've had all sorts apply similar to that.  We've been strict saying if there is a parent at home then we won't take them, but we can't limit numbers. We're relying on the honesty and goodwill of the public which is in short supply at the moment.

We do, of course, have children who have two parents who are key workers and our vulnerable or SEN children coming in as school is the best place for them. You just know that there are some people taking the piss because they can't be bothered.

Will be a similar story all over soon. The rates in the neighboring boroughs I live and work are rocketing. Hope she stays clear of it and the online work isn't too much.

What do you think should happen for those kids without access to hardware or data?

It should be supplied by the government.

Still, the idea of free fast broadband for all is such a Commie notion.

We got a letter from Skids Jr's school saying that they had over 150 kids in the school and that up to an additional 200 parents were claiming that they were key workers. So the school have basically said fuck off lying and as the rate is 126.0 in Childwall they wont be taking any more unless.

My lad was offered a place as he is on the SENCO register, but we said no. My daughter is still in nursery for two days a week so we can at least get some work done and my lad can get some home schooling. It's not ideal but just how we got to work it to make it work.

There is a fella in the firm I am working witj at the moment who has got his kids in school. He, like me works in the Adult Education game in Business Delivery (sales basically) he's got his kids in school as him and his missus work in Education. She's an admin at a college and he's a shit sales rep. Absolute chancers who are taking the piss.

Was speaking to the missus about this yesterday. On Thursdays we were both working from home and home schooling KidD. We were all on the dining room table, MrsD on our laptop, KidD on the Chromebook and me on my school laptop using the WiFi to work.

Digital privilege.
