The guidance is clear. Stay at home unless it’s work out going to the shops. People see protests and they think well if those cunts can meet up without any sanction then so can I. This will never end if we are think it doesn’t apply to us.

But they aren't illegal.

So any protest should be banned? Including protests around Black Lives Matter?

Fuck you SD you've gone too far now. You should have been banned a long time ago. Absolute scumbag

I asked you how you would feel if I said the same kind of thing about you that you've been saying about me. Quite disingenuous to claim that I was actually saying it.

Why? It's a human right to protest (regardless whether we agree with the purpose of the protest or not)

If you fail to see why in this instance then you're part of the problem.

Jesus fucking wept.

I agree with you about the protests but think the people involved (whether it's anti-lockdown or BLM) since March are dickheads.

Where you saying the same after all the BLM protests? Genuine question.

I thought they were disgraceful to gather in large numbers but the majority had masks on at least.

The only disingenuous one here as usual is you now fuck off.

But nor will it ever end if it's sort of OK to have a BLM protest during a pandemic, and not OK to protest about being forced to stay in your homes during a pandemic.

There are always double standards, mostly fuelled by either side of politics, that fuck-over fairness and equanimity and equivocal action.

You're one cheeky little get. I'm having to take my fiancee for a hospital appointment with a specialist today for which she was referred last August. I know you know this, because you negged me when I mentioned it the other day.

Yes.

Anything that creates huge crowds with people spreading the virus shouldn't be allowed for as long as thousands are dying.

My wife's mother died of cancer in July.

My wife and daughter got there with three days to spare to see her die.

And were then stuck in Ireland for three months trying to get home.

Meanwhile, my son and I were here on the other side of the world, in hard lockdown.

And I lost my job.

Do I win 5 pounds?

Oh did I? Show me where because I had zero fucking idea she was seeing a specialist today and how that is relevant I really fail to see???  You might also remember I was one of the only ones showing any concern on here when she injured herself. Cheeky little get? After your behaviour on here you have zero right to call anyone that. Go and fuck yourself you snivelling little fart.

Good luck to the Mrs.

Where have people on here been saying that?

The world is not contracted thus, Stig.

Oh right. Away from here I saw condemnation of BLM as well. As was pointed out , the majority at least wore masks but they still shouldn't have been congregating. I also saw a lot of the protests that did have social distancing.

And that's my point.  Away from here, I saw a lot of approbation.  A lot.

I'm sure that was for the actual cause as opposed to their socially congregating and helping spread the virus. But you know that.

No.

I saw Black Lives Matter protesters being turned a blind eye to - being called "unhelpful" at worst.

And, obversely, I saw a pregnant woman arrested in handcuffs in her home here in Victoria for saying on her social media that people should protest against lockdown.

Please don't tell me what I know or don't, Stig... you're a sound lad.

Any sort of mass gathering in the middle of a pandemic is stupid and should be actively discouraged.

But, I'd suggest that a BLM protest is likely to be a bit safer as I've seen claims and bits of evidence to indicate that the participants were distancing and wearing masks. However, there's probably a big overlap between anti-lockdown/5g/anti-vaxxer protestors and those who generally deny the existence/effects of Covid. So I doubt that masks and distancing would be the order of the day at a conspiracy theorist protest.

People should be allowed to protest whenever and however they like without the threat of jail. You start going down that road and soon you'll have no ability to protest.

To think this kind of action would only apply during a lockdown is naive at best

In other words, it's more OK than other types of protests, in LOCKDOWN.

Double standard for some that, I respectfully contend.
