I tried a similar one in the great mask-debate of July/August. "Ok mr 'masks don't do fuck all' if you were getting in a lift with someone who had Covid would you rather they had a mask on or not?" Reply? "I wouldn't get in the lift."

Seriously.

Let's be kind and suggest that you are merely misremembering what I actually said.

I wouldn't care either way. Though I probably wouldn't stand in a lift with someone who had covid in the first place.

17000 new cases according to the government today.

Zoe is up slightly to almost 22,000 - the numbers in the northwest have made a massive jump

Do the government still provide free ICU bed details etc?

Yes, here. Hospital admissions look to be increasing by 100 a day, people on ventilators by 20 or so.

Haha, he's Professor of Maths at Bristol Uni

Maybe you should offer him your mathematical expertise, sure he'd be honoured

I'm pointing out that the growth is certainly not exponential. I don't care if he's the king of the fucking world, his use of that term is evidentially incorrect.

Qualify that statement. I don't believe it is correct.

Did I ever claim to be a specialist?

I think that's a rubbish analogy. The policies are being made by Johnson and other politicians and they make no sense. They are not based on evidence. 10pm curfew? You can watch football in a cinema, but not in a football ground outdoors? Pubs in Wales are table service only, but unlicensed cafe's are not?

You've made your mind up that there is some kind of clinical/scientific consensus about the best way forward, but there really is not.

There really is. All the medical associations and major organisations are in consensus.

Righto

You've summed up your contribution to this topic absolutely perfectly there

Brilliant!!

You did say you 'probably' wouldn't get in the lift so even if it was referring to you I was right. Thanks for highlighting that.

Oh and going back to the "I wouldn't really care" yes you would. Say he/she sneezes for example. I know you would. Again thats enough for me.

310, 328, 368, 371, 386, 478, 472, 524 - so 214 in 7 days, which averages 30 per day.

I was talking about total number of patients in hospital, it's increasing by 100+ per day. I think the figure you're quoting are the total number admitted each day.

What, by providing factually correct information?

Mate, you obviously don't understand the graph. It clearly shows exponential growth doubling every 8 or so days

That's just a fact posted by the Director of the Statistics Institute

I think he knows what he is talking about whereas you sadly don't

Stop digging it's getting embarrassing

If anything, you underestimated it.

Posted before but recommended following this guy on Twitter for latest stats including hospitalisations.

This Great Barrington Declaration which Spy Bee is going all in on is from Great Barrington Headquarters of the American Institute for Economic Research. It's based on far right libertarian economics.
