Coronavirus

One of the national newspapers is reporting tomorrow that the UK could face a delay of "years" in delivering any forthcoming vaccination to the public as there isn't the sufficient infrastructure or personnel to do so. The body responsible for delivering any such national vaccination programme claim that these delays could be avoided if planning started now, but nobody from the government has been in contact with them up until now.

Seriously, have these incompetent gobshites got any single part of their virus response right? They seem to have fucked up at every step along the way.

it'll be just something else they think they can outsource, give their mates billions and then when it goes to shit they can either just pretend it's world class and make up some statistics to prove it or they'll just blame the outsourcers. i don't know when people are going to cotton on they don't give a fuck about anything other than staying in power and the idiots who voted them are so obsessed with brexit it would seem unlikely they can do anything wrong.

Spoke to a mate who lives in Wicklow. He was in a pub yesterday and people were actually using other people's masks before going to the bar because they forget their own and just grabbed one off the table. All because they want a pint. People are just too fucking thick and this is going to be a full on disaster again coming into winter.

Yep. 50% of the blame lies with the government for their slow then ridiculous (profit over life) management of it but people are also culpable. If you ever needed an indication of how selfish people can be just look at the actions of so many clowns over all of this. A million dead almost worldwide in less than a year and people think it's all a conspiracy and don't abide by simple fucking rules for the greater good.

These same people don't wash their hands after having a shit you can guarantee it.

It doesn't matter what anybody does, they are going to do a hard lockdown regardless. They are not interested in finding out whether anything works, I mean they introduced the rule of 6 and didn't even give it a chance before imposing further restrictions. Apparently they are also considering going beyond current restrictions in the next week, further evidence that its all just a sham.

Meanwhile theres no curfews in west minister in the commons bars, no masks in the chauffeur driven cars and fox hunting in big groups is allowed.

They, whoever they are, are taking the absolute piss out of joe public and loving every second.

Parliament has said it will not serve alcohol after the 10pm curfew, after it emerged its bars and restaurants would remain open due to an exemption in Boris Johnson’s coronavirus rules.

The strict deadline for England’s hostelries has been criticised by businesses and raised concerns it may do more harm than good by forcing crowds into the streets at the same time.

But the law came under fresh scrutiny when it was disclosed that MPs, Lords and parliamentary staff would be able to continue drinking past the deadline in the Palace of Westminster, because its establishments are classed as workplace canteens.

The regulations announced by the Prime Minister last week include exemptions that “workplace canteens may remain open where there is no practical alternative for staff at that workplace to obtain food”.

But after the decision to keep the bars open came in for cross-party criticism, Parliament announced a U-turn with immediate effect.

A spokesman said: “Alcohol will not be sold after 10pm anywhere on the parliamentary estate.”

But had nobody called them out on it, they would have continued.

Just about to post about that. Cummings and now this. Is it any fucking wonder people keep sticking two fingers up to their rules.

The pubs in Parliament thing is a total non story, once again note that it's aimed at 'MPs' rather than Johnson and his cabal, and comes from the right wing press. Designed as usual to disengage people from the political process. The idea that they're all in there at half ten swinging from chandeliers giving it V signs out the window while every other poor bugger has to traipse to bargain booze is quite bizarre.

Looks like Liverpool is shutting as well. That infection per 100K rate is higher than Amsterdam by the way, which is in the top 10 in Europe.

I honestly don't see how they can arbitrarily close bars and eateries without some kind of support, which there won't be now from government. Nobody seems to have a clue what they're doing.
