He didn't say which hairs were getting cut, so you could be on to something.

There’s more in my ears and eyebrows these days.  Although thinking about it he did compliment me saying I had nice hair and looked 37.  I’m going back tomorrow!

I'm saying we are at a saturation level which makes it difficult to spread at the same rate and ultimately at all. I believe we will still have regional spikes, and that we have not achieved full herd immunity, but that we are close to it

I also believe that we are now identifying many more cases than we previously would have which are asymptomatic, or extremely mild, because we are implementing targeted testing. The numbers in hospital continue to fall all the time, so the pipleline of future deaths falls too.

There are a number of modellers, mathematicians and some medical professionals on Twitter that also believe this. In fact, I'd say it's pretty evident. I know you say people are distancing, but it's less and less prevalent. People are now seeing friends and family in their own homes all the time. We're clearly not back to the way things were, but we're not nowhere near a full lockdown (which never really occurred anyway).

Thank Fuck we've reached saturation levels and are close to full herd immunity

We can all rubbish the ONS model which has new infections in England rising and back up to the level in mid May

Absolutely nothing to worry about as everything's fine and even if it wasn't then Covid's harmless anyway

I got some Adidas masks last week and have worn one today. As a glasses wearer they piss me off as they cause my glasses to steam up, but I’ll persevere as I think despite these new rules being about getting everyone back to work and shopping for shit we don’t actually need, I generally think it’s for the greater good.

These are the masks I bought.

In fairness between the mask and the specs if you're ever gonna commit a crime now's the time, put a cap on as well and you could be Danny Trejo for all anyone knows.

Just been a bit on German news about positive tests rising from people returning from holiday. Anyone who now returns from a country on a risk list have the choice to be tested at the airport for free (although it's being discussed if the costs for people returning from Countries which are considered a risk be put onto the price of the flight/airport taxes) , if it turns out negative they don't have to self quarantine for 14 days, it they don't use this free test they have to go through the 14 days of self quarantine.

Out of interest, how long do the results take? That's been a big problem here, they're just not turned around fast enough.

My result for the first test I had came back 2 days later, the second test the result came back the next morning. That was a while ago though and I'm not sure how quick these new tests take to come back. I'm assuming it is pretty quick as the report says they would be allowed to leave the airport without self quarantine if the test came back negative. The report also said that currently 130 countries are on the risk list.

Risk? There is infinitesimal risk. Masks? Quarantine? Pah! @Stront19m Dog™ doesn't need any of that nonsense!

I've just read a latest update to the main story where they have gone into detail about how these tests will be carried out. It will also be for anyone returning by ship/ferry etc. They say it is unclear how long the results will take and anyone returning from a country on the risk list will have to quarantine until the results come back, if they don't do the test they will have to quarantine for the full 14 days. They are also keeping tabs on anyone who will be returning from a country on the risk list, so either do a test or stay at home for 14 days.

Just had a work conference with people from all over the country, which was strange.

I was speaking so had to be there, so I did a test before it started, but didn't get the results back until the second day (I was negative, thank goodness). There were masks, distancing, no handshake rules, etc, and it all felt very odd.

The weirdest part was probably the catering. You weren't allowed to serve yourself your own food, had to get it from someone who put it on your plate for you and there were a lot of rules about them changing gloves, etc. Felt a bit surreal but seems like it went off as a success.

There will be crazy shit like this all over the workplace. What happens with the shared coffee machines and filter coffee makers? Canteen foods? Lunch runs? I don't work in an office anymore but I would imagine those simple things won't be so simple anymore.

Aiming to get us back in the office next week (Open plan) I went in the other week for a meeting and there was a few people in there standing right next to eachother chatting like nothing has happened.

It's going to be carnage when we go back.

The measure of success there mate is nobody contracting it from that event.

I’ve been wearing one in the shops for ages now but I went to Sainsbury’s last night and all the staff had them on too. I was mildly annoyed by that because there’s two checkout women in there that I actively avoid due to them being pompous fucking turbo-twats and the masks make it harder to quickly identify them. Ended up going through the self service instead.
