Seems fair enough to me. Remember why this lockdown is in place, its not to protect the young fit and healthy, its to safeguard the old, ill and vulnerable.

I shall be erecting a tower and will be scanning my area with binoculars

I'm no fan of police brutality but I doubt they'll be killing, say, 3% of the population in the way this virus does.  You need to stop moralising about this.  If the R0 of the virus is around 3 then one person can be responsible for infecting thousands of others.  That's more dangerous than any overzealous plod.

Stay the fuck at home.

Killing 3% of the population?  Are you sure?

The people worried about these lock downs being the first step toward some kind of long term martial law or police state situation couldn't be further from the point and are weirdos.

How can you predict future police behaviour?

Fine, call it 1%.  Call it whatever you want.  The figure given was for argument's sake only.  It doesn't really matter what comes before the percentage sign.  This virus has no vaccine, is highly infectious and kills a shitload of people.  That's more dangerous than a copper with a stick.

I can safely predict in two years time they will still like donuts and coffee. Bit of a stretch that in two years they'll be beating you up because you went outside, though.

If he meant just him then I predict that he is probably right.

Your faith in our police far outstrips mine, I believe its healthy to be wary when police promote over zealous policies like seen in Derbyshire and around the country, but I realise I'm in a minority.

This is an unrelated incident from two years ago. I'm talking about the measures being employed now, in the context of a global pandemic.

Interesting report on Sky just now, unrest is starting to raise its head in Italy, I mentioned earlier in the thread that long term lockdowns are unsustainable, people simply won’t accept or tolerate them, massive problems ahead.

Exactly. The red cross has warned people of this. The inner cities are simmering.

I've got absolutely no issues with being paid to sit in my house for the next 6months or so.

It’s really hard on extroverts; one of my former colleagues is losing her mind- she cannot stay still unless she is socializing and is always going here and there and knows everyone.
