Can you describe your symptoms please? Was it very much like the 'flu?

Started out with flu/cold like symptoms, runny nose, sore throat etc. Then i developed a cough, chest pain, lung pain, no appetite, fever, shivers and then it cleared up and I felt fine, then a bit fatigued today. It felt pretty much like I’d imagine a flu would feel, but with a special emphasis on the breathing difficulties. Don’t think I’ve ever had a “proper” flu to compare it with, though

I genuinely hope you are feeling better soon and free of any infection with a strong immune system. Maybe then, if I survive too, we can get together in Swansea or wherever it is you live in October and we can be the under card of the main Berlin event.

I’ll be at the holiday inn, Wrexham in precisely 6 months from now. I’ll meet you there. Coronavirus or not I’d open a can of whupass you wouldn’t believe

I’m currently in a hospital in Germany as my partner is having treatment for an ongoing condition at a specialist clinic, we are here for 2 weeks in total with one down so far.

The government have announced that they are closing the borders and the Bavarian region where we are is going into lockdown. The hospital have also recommended we don’t leave the premises.

I’m hoping we can return home and go into self isolation in comfort but may have to accept an extended stay. As confusing as all the info is and how frustrating this all is as well, I’m remaining optimistic things will improve.

It would be weird watching people fight during a pandemic because they would have to hit each other between the coughs. It would be a like an event in a Japanese game show.

From some of the accounts I've read you have the initial period of feeling unwell, get better then start feeling fatigued. Then the shit hits the fan. Hopefully it's just because you've had a virus but it's definitely something to be aware of over the next few days.

Yeah, cheers mate, I will certainly be keeping an eye on it. The missus was reporting some cold/flu symptoms earlier so it might be a long couple of weeks. We’re both in self isolation anyway so hopefully we can just wait for it to blow over

Was it really horrible or was it just unpleasant?

Yeah, hundreds of thousands dead, no problem, just a laugh innit!

You seem to be getting ahead of yourself a bit, so far we have 35 deaths from coronavirus.

600,000 people die in the UK annually, 17,000 of whom succumb to influenza.

It went from unpleasant to pretty damn shit quite rapidly, but I was surprised at how quickly I felt better. Although only time will tell whether or not that was a false dawn.

So what you are saying is those who felt like crap a while ago and have improved are going to feel shit again soon, great news. As it happens the youngest son, the missus and myself are feeling a bit ropy again, I just had a nose bleed from the dryness, I honestly can't remember the last time I had a nose bleed.

If I'm gonna get it I'd rather get it now If I'm honest. Hospitals won't be under immense strain and they'll have bog roll.

Missus was saying that they are setting up a big tented area where we live so people can freely go for a test before self isolating, taking precautionary measures. I suppose it would be wise if as many of us as possible get this test, could end up saving thousands of others being infected and it would give folk the peace of mind that they won't be endangering others, especially the elderly and vulnerable groups.

They've just announced that Bielefeld is effectively going into lock down over the next few days until the 19th April.  Bars/restaurants/shops etc, only grocery stores, banks and Chemists open. No social events including sports of any kind, shutting gym's/swimming baths/Saunas etc etc. Security patrol plans being put in action to stop people gathering.

Gotta hand it to the Yanks. Proper press conference with a mass of experts, all talking in vivid detail. Looks like this is a daily thing.

Boris you fat coward cunt. Where you hiding at? Take fucking note ya blert.

The US have handled this appallingly. They aren't an example to follow. They are just now realizing the shit show that is about to unravel.

Plus nobody is making it out to be an apocalypse, well not on here. Just worried about the health of others and the worrying trend in cases/deaths. It's like Governments are taking these drastic measures for giggles. They are just not telling us the whole truth about things, because it would cause even more panic. The coming weeks are going to be an eye opener for all those taking it lightly.

When you go shopping please try to get a few extra things, if you can afford it, for your local food bank. There are thousands of people that a reduction in hours or a job loss puts them immediately in poverty.

About half an hour after I read this I got sent a screenshot of someone posting in a local Facebook group that people had been helping themselves to some of the tinned stuff in the collection basket that Tesco had run out of.
