One for you @Kevin D

It's objectively brilliant, but I'm not convinced it meets his other hall of fame insults.

It's not about wanting to win. They like to stand candidates in as many places as possible. I was just a name on a ballot, I signed a form - that's it.

Istvan Kuntstain - you've added nothing, you insolent slanderous worm.

Oh, I suppose you think I shouldn't be concerned about the love of my life having to spend time among violent criminals just because she wants to properly learn how to use computers?

Maybe if you ever found it in yourself to love and be loved by another human being, you soulless husk of a man, then you wouldn't be such a nasty little gobshite.

Interesting article on the difference between South Korea and Italy’s mortality rates.

https://medium.com/@andreasbackhausab/coronavirus-why-its-so-deadly-in-italy-c4200a15a7bf

And a related Twitter thread:

Was thinking about this yesterday. Why is the death rate so low in German?. I guessed it must be partly Northern Europe being richer than Southern Europe, and therefore with better healthcare (although it's very good in Spain), but predominantly cultural. People often live at home well in to their late 30s in Italy. Minor events, and general socialising often tends to be multi generational in Italy as well. Spain to a lesser extent the same.

Makes sense there aren't many deaths in Denmark when you can move out at 22, never speak to your gran again, and you can go twenty seconds without touching someone during a conversation.

Free scran and that yeah? I’ll bring the missus if there’s seats going spare? Who’s name on the card, we’ve got an eleccy knife left over from our wedding, I’ll get her to wrap it.

The options for the meal were crap, mate. I’m having a roast dinner at a wedding for fuck sake. Party in a hotel bar where I’d have to book two rooms because we won’t all fit in one. No ta. We’re getting a taxi back to her sister’s house once her mum starts acting like a knob. So about 20 minutes into proceedings, I imagine. I’ll take the knife though if you don’t want it.

Churches forced to close over here, that'll piss off a lot of people. Infected people now 25 in Bielefeld, 30 tests still outstanding and 340 in quarantine. The City are sending workers to all Old Folks homes to test people which is good.

My last band arrived in Texas yesterday to play a festival (was the cancelled SXSW but going ahead on a lesser scale) just after the travel ban from the U.K. was announced by Trump.

They now have to get flights out of America by tomorrow, otherwise they are stranded there for a month.

One positive, going to make a great song.

One of your songs came on my Spotify in the car the other day. I keep forgetting to remove them.

Look at the replies to this. Unbelievable. This is why the country will be fucked, though their attitudes may change as they start dropping in great numbers.

A Telegraph Journalist said the other week, that killing off the elderly could prove mildly beneficial for the economy of the UK.

Yeah, but the replies to that are people who actually are elderly saying they won’t self isolate!

Remarkable that people still aren’t hearing the mood music. Our entire way of life is going to be unrecognisable within weeks, indefinitely. Requires a total mindset change that should already have happened or be in the late stages of being fixed. My old dear is still talking about just going out shopping at less busy times so there aren’t quite as many people about and dropping stuff into me when the restrictions arrive. She’s 72. Just had to explain to her that as kind an offer as that is, she won’t be able to leave her front door once it’s announced, possibly legally.

Could be just bravado mate, plus people don't like being told what to do a lot of the time. As you say, I'm sure their attitudes will change if things do escalate out of hand.
