Colin Bell, the King of the Kippax, has died aged 74.

Bell, regarded as one of the finest players ever to pull on the City shirt, passed away on Tuesday afternoon after a long-term illness.

The midfielder won all three major domestic trophies at Maine Road and was part of the team to lift the 1970 European Cup Winners’ Cup.

Great great player and I know a few older City fans who thought he was their best ever player...

The reaction of new City fans will be kinds different..

I’m still hopeful they’ll name a stand ‘The Bell End’

Fingers crossed.

I read yesterday that they did when the originally moved into the Etihad. Changed it to the Colin Bell Stand for some reason.

I was only half joking as it did actually happen!

Yes, it was all a brilliant rouse from fans of other teams to rig the voting, especialy United fans.

The Bell End would have been the name if they had gotten away with it...

Sylvain Sylvain out the New York Dolls has died. The Dolls were great. Punk before punk. I saw a reformed version twice, well after their best, and they were boss both times. Malcolm McClaren wanted to build the Sex Pistols around Sylvain but ended up nicking his guitar and giving it to Steve Jones instead. The first two New York Dolls albums are essential.
