It always surprise me that ‘Don’t stop believing’ is an ode to suicide and the persistence of said act in the face of not being able to top oneself.

Crazy, huh?

Especially because every time I hear it I want to stick my head under a midnight train going anywhere.

There's a persistent rumour that Lou Reed's "Perfect Day" is about heroin, despite two pieces of evidence to the contrary.

1. The complete absence of anything in the song that could be construed as being vaguely or obliquely suggestive of heroin.

2. (As someone smarter than me pointed out) if Lou Reed wanted to write a song about heroin, he just would have written a song about heroin. In fact, he did. He called it "Heroin".
