Song meanings

I'm pretty thick at understanding what songs are about if there is any level of simile or metaphor involved or just don't understand what the singer is singing.

Just about deduced who let the dogs out but give me some of your favourite songs and explain what you think they mean for me.

Love lyrics as much as the tune, some real clever songs which have been penned. Leonard Cohen and Tom Waits are ace.

However, one of the cleverest penned songs is 'A song for whoever' by the Beautiful South. Very clever lyrics and they nearly worked as intended, unfortunately they only made No 2 in the charts with it.

Yeah, same here. Got loads of their stuff. Paul Heaton is a clever singer/song writer and he was also very good in the Housemartins. That Jacqui Abbott who sang in the Beautiful South would also have gotten a gig, bet she's one of those fun girls.

Caravan of Love was about the Escort Readers Wives volumes of 1986.

Hahahaha, stop taking the piss. I wouldn't have a clue what it is about, but the original was by another band, Isley brothers? Or one of them as a solo artist. Probably religious meanings................ priests shagging Nuns in their caravans of Love.
