My dads mate was postman in L8 during the 70's and passed one of the Amoo brothers on the way up to their flat. He enquired if there was any post , which there was,  and then asked the postie for it. When it was explained that it had to be delivered to the door , he explained who he was and launched into a shortened version of the dance routine to the above song to the bemusement of my dad mate , who simply ignored it and trudged up the stairs with the Amoo lad following him.

I think he expected him to take the stars out of the sky for him.

The recent documentary on BBC 4 about the Real Thing was absolutely brilliant. 

When I ran my own Disco there were a few songs that were guaranteed floor fillers and the Real Thing You to me are everything was one of them great documentary by the way
