Gray: Grealish would walk into the Liverpool midfield

Andy Gray is only looking at what a player like Grealish does in isolation instead of looking at how the player would fit into a certain team to get the most out of himself as well as those around him.

It's like when certain players are linked to us because they are supposedly good at set-pieces. The player's team usually plays for set-pieces, has a number of grocks in the side, and does very little creatively when in possession. Put that player in a side like ours when he would be expected to do more when we are in possession, where we don't play for set-pieces and where we don't fill the team with grocks, and he will look like he's playing at the wrong level.

Who would fit into the current system better than the players already there, or who is good enough that Klopp would risk changing that system to accomodate them?

Exactly.

How many times did we look at the great Man Utd teams and think “they’re not so good on paper...”? When they spent big money it was usually because it was the right signing for the team rather than like Man City or Chelsea buying for the sake of it. If this success continues, we’ll spend money when we need to upgrade, not just because there’s a high quality player available.

Not quite sure why we have a thread about some throw away comment from that useless cliched cunt Gray .

Grealish isn't coming whether we want him or not . Klopp isn't going to try and integrate two new midfielders into the 1st team during the crucial run in. It's not just what happens on the pitch but the risk that it causes issues in the dressing room.  I think Grealish has made the step up from the Championship well and looks a top class player.

If he is available in the summer then gets my vote but he'll be going to one of the Mancs or Chelsea for daft money.

Liverpool have no interest in signing Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish.

Reports over the last few days have linked the European and world champions with a potential move for the 24-year-old.

But the ECHO understands such speculation is wide of the mark with Grealish not on the Reds' radar.

In the summer of 2018, then Villa technical director Steve Round approached Liverpool and offered them the player for £25million, with the Midlanders at that time running into financial difficulties after failing to gain promotion to the Premier League.

The Reds turned down the move, and were similarly disinterested when Villa again offered Grealish for transfer last summer.

Talk of Liverpool and Grealish has intensified in recent days, with former Everton forward Andy Gray suggesting the Villa man is better than any of the Reds' midfielders and ex-Anfield man Danny Murphy hinted the player could be a long-term replacement for Gini Wijnaldum or James Milner.

Any links to Liverpool are most likely an attempt to engineer interest from elsewhere in Grealish, with Manchester United reportedly tracking the England under-21 international.

Grealish has eight goals and six assists in 23 matches this season.

Same rule apply for all transfers. Player has to pass all 3 requirements.

1. Skills? Better than we already have: OK, check

2. Age? Under 25-26 y.o.: OK, check

3. Attitude? Mentality monster working 100% for the team.: FAIL.

Result: No transfer

On this website there's also a fourth requirement: Hairstyle? Definately FAIL
