Man Utd (H) Premier League - 19/1/20

Interesting the bit about the 80’. So strong mentally like it used to be, the game is won before the kick off. And great praise of Klopp with the perfect balance in team. And the conclusion : «  I see they still have another level to go”

Et ben mes amis ....

Oh it looks like the daily wail has picked up a story about the 'Official Liverpool' fan group (I dont think they are 'official' in any way) calling for a hostile coach reception for united on Sunday.

I used to think these were great when the purpose was to welcome OUR players coach. But sadly, it just takes a few tosser to change the emphasis onto 'welcoming' the visiting team coach and all that entails. The bad publicity it brings I wish the club would just put a stop to this now.

What I don't understand is that it was presumably effective on the first one or two occasions they did it, but now it's every single time we play them and so has no valance, just bizarre to continue to do it.

Does this mean they're going to sheet the bed?

Wherever 2 or 3 working class, Scouse scum are gathered together, the Daily Heil sees a dangerous mob who must be stopped.

For what it's worth, I can't be arsed about the other team's coach; these things should be all about welcoming the Liverpool coach and building a proper atmosphere from the start.

I’d prob go 4-4-2, to fit all of our front three along with Rashford and sacrifice one of the midfielders. Other than that I have no complaints really.

Maguire has been wank this season. Putting him ahead of Gomez is trolling or worse.

I respectfully disagree obviously, but I can see where you’re coming from if you’re basing it on this season alone.

Changing a team that hasn’t lost, for a different formation to fit in United players... unreal. Putting slow defenders into the best defensive unit in the world who play high, push the fullbacks forward, and leave the CBs exposed and rely on their pace?

No thanks. I don’t care what season it is.

Yes, Gomez and Matip are both much better players than Maguire. Maguire is an absolute fucking shambles. I wouldn't swap him for Lovren.

And obviously having Rashford ahead of Salah is utterly ludicrous.

A mixed 11 would be 11 Liverpool players with the only debate about whether Gomez or Matip starts alongside VVD.

I don’t know. Klopp managed to create a successful side with two slow CBs before. Before Virgil, I’d say Hyypia was our best centre back in the modern era and he was slower than your nan. More than one way to skin a cat.

Cool. Let’s weaken our team, play a different way that has made us lose once in a season and a half, all to fit Maguire in.

Agree with your first sentence, mate. We definitely do not agree.

Couldnt give a toss about who some fucker thinks should be in some invented team.

Rashford is the only player they have that I would be pleased if we signed and could strengthen our squad. He is wasted at Utd.

Rashford has been very good this season. If they wanted to squeeze in a United player, they could have added him and made it a 4-2-4. But putting Maguire in that combined 11 is an affront. It's disgusting. Outrageous.

Like everyone else I hope we beat these fuckers on Sunday but I hope the fanbase (it probably will though) don't go into meltdown if we don't. If someone had said after 22 games you'll win every one apart from two against the Mancs I'd like to think how we'd all answer...

    • Well that’s just bollocks as Rafa had left the club before Comolli had joined.
    • Jurgen Klopp has given little credence to those individuals who are using any possible reason to downplay the achievements of Liverpool this season.

The Reds are just four wins away from their first league triumph in three decades, and are on the verge of wrapping up the title in the quickest period of time in the modern era, currently holding a 22 point lead over Man City.

But as recent games against relegation threatened sides such as Norwich and West Ham have shown, there is certainly no such thing as a easy win.

The fact that this team has only dropped points once this campaign is remarkable, however there is a theory around that it is to do with the failings of their main rivals, not so much the overall strength of Liverpool.

Speaking ahead of the game against Watford on Saturday evening, Klopp was having none of that.

The Daily Mail reported the manager as saying:

“I couldn't care less (what people say).

      “Look, it is completely normal.

“I don't think that we should have any concern for things like this. If other people think like that – if they think City are not as good as they were – they ARE!

“They have scored a little less goals than us, conceded a few more, and if you look why it is clear they have been missing some players.

“The other teams are really strong too.

“Yes, Bayern beat Tottenham and Chelsea [in the Champions League] but they are really strong over a season.

“Yes, they (Spurs and Chelsea) have had some problems, that's all true.

“But in the moment that you play them you don't feel that they have these problems.

“The points they have, we have no influence on that apart from the games when we play them.

“So it says nothing about the quality of the Premier League, especially when you look at City v Real Madrid.

“I know that people look at these things and you saw that one of the best teams in the world maybe in the moment and City were clearly better so that shows as well how strong the League is.

Despite the outstanding consistency and success of the past two seasons, Klopp is certainly not one to rest on his laurels and be content.

“There is still a lot of work to do and a lot of space for improvement.

“You see our games and result wise it looks okay but performance-wise there is a lot of space for improvement.

“That is what we work on and try constantly through the week.

“Result consistency is maybe difficult to improve because that is close to perfection, obviously, but it is possible to improve the performances in all departments.

“There are so many things you can improve that that will never end.”

    • This will become a worry soon. Fucking Ludogorets players travelling to the San Siro stadium with face masks on. Its all becoming a bit hysterical; some more reported cases in the UK and all bets are off. Got to get this wrapped up in the coming weeks. Bomb out the Cup and get this wrapped up in the next 3 weeks.
