Because he used a drug so they were both disorientated and unsure, and no doubt felt shame or embarrassment at what they suspected may have happened. It’s difficult enough for women, but you only have to look at the pressure on heterosexual men to exhibit masculinity to know that anyone in that position would probably feel shamed and worried about what people would say or whisper behind their back.
