For old farts like me it was sad to see Neil Innes died suddenly today . Saw him a couple of times and he was brilliant.

Funny talented guy  RIP

 

Neil Innes, the English writer, comedian and musician - dubbed "The Seventh Python" - has died aged 75.

He was best known for his work with the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band, The Rutles and collaborating with Monty Python.

A spokesperson for the Innes family said he had not been suffering from any illness and had passed away unexpectedly on Sunday night.

Python founding member Sir Michael Palin described him as "a great writer" and "the most lovely friend".

I remember the Innes Book of Records being a big thing in our house when I were a lad. Shame it's never been released on DVD, my mum would love to see it again. Hopefully getting a proper release will be something good to come of his death.

I didn't realise he was the voice of Raggy Dolls.

Not only did he write all the Rutles  and Monty Python classics but he also co-wrote Whatever, the best Oasis song.

Very good at satire. had a decent innings, but still a shock when someone passes on without any sign of illness.
