Shadow Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster sounds like something that should've been abolished in 1850.

I wasn't too sure what the role entailed. But, it's apparently similar to a minister without portfolio role with the holder of the position advising on general policy direction etc, with the Duchy of Lancaster stuff being a minor aspect of the role.

Let's hope that Rachel Reeves doesn't try to implement her previously expressed views!

3 Chicken coup members , the vice chair of LFI and the guy who got recorded by his Tory mate wanting Corbyn to get slaughtered in December. Starting to wonder whether I was completely gullible to believe him and back him. Be interesting to see what he offers RLB.

Nandy is the Chair of the Labour Friends of Palestine so balances the LFI thing a bit

Disappointed in Gardiner going. Thought he was generally good

Some people place far too much weight on things like this. Nandy was nominated for the leadership by the Jewish Labour Movement.

She was happy to pledge to implement the Board of Deputies ten demands, as was Starmer, who, while also LFoP, has written a fawning letter to them within hours of being in office. The first trap they all walked into before any of them were even elected leader.

The strange thing is that the BoD would be better keeping the present system of investigation that Formby implemented with most of the potential committee members scared of upsetting them , whereas in an independent system with , presumably , lawyers etc will just deal drily with the facts

Richard Burgon jibbed off from the shadow cabinet.

To be honest, I think he comes across as a bumbling idiot. I do realise the irony in saying that as it seems no bar to success as the current prime minister is a bumbling idiot, but for me it's not a talent we should search out. It matters little what his politics are if he struggles to articulate them.

Starmer's wife and children are Jewish , so if he gets called anti-Semitic by the BoD we may as well give up.

Oh that’s already been happening. Daily mail article the other day having a pop at him. Cunts

I think he was alright. But, I won't see his removal from the shadow cabinet as any great loss.

You might want to think a bit more about that one.

He's further to the left than a lot of the party and had a decent amount of socialist support, can't see what reason there is to think further on it. Oh he is on video calling out Zionism and didn't agree to the BoD's demands so there's that too.

But I think him being well to the left will have covered most of it.

Why do you think it is?

So, essentially, a purge of socialists is what’s happening?
