Yeah, he starts the tours to test the waters as well tomorrow. Still assuming that the left member block, will, er, block him and split the vote, but I assume he’s looked at numbers and sees it as potentially viable.

I’m at a Q&A with him tomorrow evening if anyone’s got anything they want me to ask him?

First question ‘Beans on a fry up, yes or you’re wrong?’ Obvs.

Yep. I think it’s because Phillips didn’t like Corbyn so anyone who doesn’t like her is a Corbyn supporter and therefore anti-Semitic. Nice to see pretty much everyone call her out even members of the Jewish community for this.

Anti-semitism is disgusting and abhorrently wrong just like racism. However using it as a “go to” when someone disagrees with you is also absolutely disgusting.

It is stirring up far more hatred.

Hasn’t Phillips been deleting all her pro-Palestine tweets from her account?

Jess Phillips talking about returning to the EU in 5 years on Marr today. Why the hell would you say that? Has she not learnt anything from Labour's crushing defeat less than a month ago? She might well think it, if Brexit goes as bad as we all think so will everyone, but keep it quiet. Tone deaf and as out of touch as the other people who she claims are.

She's LFI , so I'm surprised there is any pro-Palestinian stuff on there , there isn't usually with their other members.

The twist with the Corbyn's preferential successor - left/right argument is that Long-Bailey is LFI, while Starmer isn't.

Got to remember though everything they say isn’t aimed at the country or even Labour voters in general but only at the membership or people they think they can get to join as members to vote for them.

Goes without saying I don’t agree with her and think she’s a piss poor candidate but she’ll be hoping to attract more support from the remainers who make up the majority of the membership and get some of the FBPE type people to sign up to vote for her.

Think it’s a doomed strategy personally but she’s trying to pitch to a type of voter the others don’t appeal to is my guess.

I was going to mention the membership but even the majority of remainers must realise that Brexit is now inevitable. The public made that clear in the general election, we're left with a Tory majority and a Diet Coke Trump for 5 years because of the desire to leave the EU. We tried, we lost. Gotta look past it to the winnable battles now.

Agreed, and Starmer does too which is another reason I’m backing him. The likes of Phillips need a unique selling point to differentiate them from the others, seems like she’s picked a mental one though.

Nandy and Long-Bailey have their selling points as politicians and as women. Phillips' selling point seems to be loud mouth. It's not going to win her fuck all, unless she somehow ends up as deputy leader as a ying to Starmer's yang; which would also be a mistake.

Don’t think it’s possible she can end up at deputy leader mate. I’m assuming that will be elected at the same time as we elect a new leader and she isn’t running for it. Rayner is a shoo-in for that.

Said that ' the public got it right ' and agreed with them voting the Tories in.

I know he hates Corbyn like a lot of others , but that's a strange outlook from a Labour member.

I've read the interview and this is a little bit misleading. Most are running with that little bit of the interview but it needs some context. I think calling him a cunt based on that is a wee bit harsh.
