Thing is, the club doesnt give out much info now on player injuries and when they'd likely return. Im guessing Phillips has been recalled as a precaution and maybe there's something in the loan agreement that says he can only be recalled during the Bundesliga 2 mid season break and not during the actual playing season?

Makes sense

Bring him back, if Lovren and Matip are good to go at the end of Jan you can loan him out again. Also get a good look at the kid and see if he's ready to come in next year. As much as Klopp loves Lovren and as good as Matip been it can't be going unnoticed how often both are injured and the wages paid

There's mention on the Echo site that there's an agreement for Nat to return to Stuttgart at the end of January, though that will depend on the fitness of our other options at centre half.
