I really want to see someone test the logic of this supposed "an attacker's handball doesn't matter unless it leads to a goal" rule.

I want Salah to pick the ball up in his hands, pull the defender's arm away from his body and throw the ball into his arm and then demand that it's a penalty because his handball didn't lead to a goal therefore it can't be used in determining whether the defender committed a handball offense or not.

When you take it to its logical conclusion it becomes clear how utterly daft that interpretation of the rule is.

From what I see City had themselves to blame to a degree. Take their chances early doors and they’re at least level, even with the dodgy officiating. Not very clinical at all

Liverpool are a high brow Leicester under Ranieri. Pure counter attack and Benefitting from the usual suspects having a terrible season too and being below their usual quality.

Still hold out some hope they bottle it again. Would be hilarious to see.

So what does that make Spurs this season? Perhaps a high brow Sheff Utd under Warnock?

The red can still give handball for a handball, you know, and as shit as they are id actually back them to spot that.

Hahaha. Shite. It makes them fucking shite.

All these fucking wankers living in lala land, fingers in ears, desperately clasping at whispers of straws, unable to admit that THIS TEAM IS BOSS. Are we the best team to ever exist? No. But we are very fucking good and can win any number of ways. We are so highly adaptable it's unreal.

To talk about a nonsense handball is disrespectful to the lads that were immense. And every one of them was. Bernardo Silva and Sterling played really well, it's the best I have ever seen Sterling play yet we held firm and killed them on the break. We were beasts out there, every apart from Alisson who is was just a cool mother fucker.

Replace Lovren with TAA, Salah with Fabinho, throw in a piece of Silva...

Seriously though, it took all of 3 weeks from when I wrote this for it to eventuate, highlighting just what a mess the rules are in right now.

Stop blowing your own trumpet. You were miles off. It was Fabinho that scored after a deflection from Trent’s arm.

Replace this. Replace that. No. Not good enough, son.

I didn’t think Silva had a good game at all. Sterling was very good for them indeed.

You probably just couldn't see it, bet you didn't miss David Silva drop kicking Gomez when he was warming up?

I've worked it out now... a penalty should have been awarded to City for Trent's handball assist to Fabinho's goal... and not his handling of Silva's handling.

Easy.

Yep, City robbed.

I have seen absolutely nothing in the media or from the authorities explaining the whole handball thing. As far as I can tell:

Michael Oliver didn’t see the Silva handball and deemed the TAA handball accidental. VAR checked the TAA handball and agreed it was accidental. As a result, the Silva handball was irrelevant (not leading to a goal scoring opportunity), play was allowed to continue and we scored. If VAR had decided that the TAA handball was a penalty then they would have reviewed the Silva handball which lead to it and Liverpool would have got a free kick.

So Man City were never getting a penalty, even though the decision was debatable. And of course the whole VAR thing is complete bollocks; when Fabinho scores a worldie we should all be jumping up and down screaming, not scratching our chins about retrospective reinterpretations of shite regulations.

I was.

Well, silently, watching in bed.

I thought our midfield which was apparently out weak point was brilliant.

Fabinho was a class above but also thought Henderson was brilliant today

Yeah, all three were good, also helped by TAA and Robbo pushing up to make it a 5 man midfield a lot of the time. Left gaps in behind a few times but when we had the ball we cut through them. Salah, Mane and Bobby also played their part and all three put in a good shift tracking back at times. It really was an all round team performance which was needed against City.
