Generally although understandably his defensive play isn't there yet by any means. Seems to have a good spirit and determination about him.

Lots of good and some bad as you would expect with a youngster , but I liked his determination and mentality.

Raw defensively, but fought tooth and nail for everything, and got his assist.

He ought to have been used in the box at set-pieces, he’s a better header of the ball than Gomez or van den Berg.

Took Trent a while to balance the defensive side with the attacking side too.

 

Great for these kids to get another run-out against Villa. They'll probably get a crack in the FA Cup too, depending on opposition.

Very impressive debut. Calm and composed on the ball, and a handful of excellent passes.

 

Expect him to develop physically and defensively over the next few years, gonna be very interesting to follow.

He hasn't had a bad game yet when I've seen him playing for the first team. Three or four games too.

A few of us on the youth thread have been bigging him up for years, he was always the real prospect not Lewis.

Hopefully we'll start to see him now rather than asking one of our best centre backs to play there and disrupting the defence with Lovren. 

 

He should get plenty of game time over the next month when there's no pressure at all.

Perfect situation to make your debut, Palace were just playing for the final whistle and trying to keep the score down. No doubting this young lad has potential though, hopefully he gets more game time along with Harvey Elliott and Curtis Jones once we have wrapped the title up. We could easily fit them in on a match day and still have a pop at a record points total. It would stand the squad in good stead for next season to let these lads loose without any added pressures.

Agree. Very good right foot, and excellent vision. Bit like our current right back.

Well pleased Neco came on and looked good going forward. Not going to heap pressure on the lad just yet and to be fair, he wasnt tested defensively. This to me is why Jurgen doesnt appear to get concerned about buying all this 'quality cover.' He believes in the young lads coming through and giving them their chance.

 

Id like to see the likes of Wilson given 'a chance' but understand the pressure on Jurgen to deliver.
