The information on who is best placed to beat the Tory is all out there for every constituency . People should check and act accordingly and I think a lot of right minded people will.

Sure, but there's no agreement on who is best placed. Labour are in denial and are going to finish third in places which they won or finished second in last time, but they're still insisting that they're the main opposition to the Tories in places like Wimbledon, Kensington, Finchley & Golders Green etc. They risk letting the Tories in through the back door.

What do you make of the Libs making out that they are the main opposition to parties in places they are nowhere near? Misleading isn't it? (not a dig at all just want your take on it)

What I would say is that often you're talking about leaflets that were designed/printed when Labour and the Lib Dems were practically neck and neck in the polls. Things change pretty quickly and seats that looked like realistic targets are now no longer realistic targets. So they need to be viewed in that context.

Irrespective of what leaflets may say, we are not campaigning hard in places where we can't win.

That’s categorically not true

Boo fucking hoo is exactly the right answer. To all options arguing it's a binary choice, because you made yourself unappealing to floating voters or potential coalition partners.

More unappealing than the far right proto fascist Johnson led tories. Which is exactly my point.

So you want green voters like me (green party member too) to hold my nose and vote Labour (even in a constituency like mine where it'll make fuck all difference)?

Sorry mate, I made my choice, I like Corbyn and if there were more like him in Labour I may never have turned to the greens, but I can't go back (even though I'm pissed off at our 'remain alliance' with the Con Dumbs)!

If you live in a constituency where your vote doesn’t count for anything, then fine, vote your conscience. If you’re in a marginal or hotly contested constituency and your vote goes anywhere other than to Jeremy Corbyn, and you aren’t a millionaire or an oligarch, you’re a mug.

The initial point (of this discussion) was that the entire political system is just a binary choice between more or less fascism and whoever runs the Labour Party and where ever they take it.

I'm in David Davis's area (my brother has had 4 leaflets through the door for that cunt now, and he told me a bit ago he's literally spat on every one of them, still makes me laugh.) and you could say my vote means nothing, but still voted Labour because not ever having voted for Corbyn if he's out after this would be something I'd always regret.

Also though : If enough people vote Labour in an area they have no chance in (unless Libs/SNP can take the seat this time), those votes might add up to a decent amount and the party might start taking that area more seriously in the future/put more focus on campaigning there, weakening it for the Tories.

The 2nd bit for me isn't as strong a thing though and I'll probably be back for Greens next time. Or will I? I don't know any more, the Tories have become that bad that maybe a change in the voting system or a total center-right, corporate loving twat being Labour leader is the only way I'd move back over. What a shit system we're dealing with.

I disagree, fuck the Con Dumbs and the rest, but I'm a green party member and I couldn't vote Labour whilst that remains the case!

I've been let down by (the admittedly mainly Blairite) Labour party far too often in the past!

I genuinely wish Corbyn well, I'm still and will always be a socialist, and I hope he springs as big a surprise, if not bigger than last time.

I personally just hope there are a few more greens in parliament to help (and occasionally if I'm honest hinder) him!

I'm not going to knock anyone who votes tactically, because I completely understand the feeling of wanting your vote to count and voting for a lesser evil, but third party supporters voting to keep Tories or Labour out are perpetuating and entrenching that duopoly.

Some will term them wasted votes, but any vote for parties outside the big two, even if there's no chance of victory, just adds to the mandate for electoral reform.

We had Tory governments throughout the 80s, and now, and probably for the next 5 years, even though most of the country is voting against them. I don't think this is a situation that can or should be allowed to continue.

Maybe the LibDems could have done something about that on 2010 when selling us all for 5 years of austerity in return for a vote for a voting system more shite than the one we currently have.

Watched a live stream of the hustings tonight in my constituency, which is one of the key marginals.

The Labour candidate was brilliant, as usual. He’s been a superb MP for the area, especially compared to the horrible Tory twat he beat and replaced.

Would be a travesty if he lost his seat but there are loads of bad Brexit knobs around here so he’s highly at risk.

The Tory candidate didn’t bother turning up for the hustings.

Here’s another one of those surveys to adjust you to what the parties are saying. Bit more detailed.

I’m surprised that my results keep having Labour and Lib Dem neck and neck, but attribute that to Lib Dem’s shrouded policies (in my opinion) focusing a lot on brexit and clouding their Tory light persona.

As it stands, I would love to vote green, but it’s absolutely pointless in the grand scheme, so these questionnaires can tell me I’m more Lib Dem than labour as much as they want, but I’ll be going Labour again.

Interesting that if you look at the breakdown of results by country/national - lab are beating the tories across board.
