Some of these big American ones do my head in. There’s one called Mr Beast who goes round giving hundreds of thousands of dollars away. Houses and all sorts. Maybe he’s just a socialist but it makes you wonder how he’s making so much dough that stuff like that is financially viable. 
 

The gamer ones are worse though, they bring their mates into the videos and push their mate’s channels onto people as well, so purely by knowing one of these spawny kids, you become one yourself.

Easy money.  I can't get my head around any of it to be honest. I think my cousin makes a lot of her money through allowing advertising on her channel and sponsorship. She's 19 now and started her channel when she 14 or so.  She has 300k followers. Mental.

I'm not sure it's easy as such, to get that many followers she must stand out, know her audience and be very entertaining. Fair play to her

Yeah you're right. She would have had to put the graft in at the start. She's a lovely kid in fairness. We're all delighted for her.

Opened a business account for a charming young lady who was based here while studying in the city and she explained to me that she placed videos online giving gamer tips for the likes of Minecraft and an American firm paid her sums based on the hits she received . I'll be honest I thought she was vastly exaggerating the potential monies involved , but fair play to her she turned over more than a million quid in the first year. So you may be on easy street soon , Cap'n.

It looks like they've changed the UI so that the number of dislikes is no longer displayed. Presumably to appease media and games companies who don't want their precious PR bullshit blown off course due to a bad reaction to a trailer. Wankers.
