It's hard to see how a man who calls immigrants 'picaninnies' can even pretend to sympathise.

He won't be the only one to pretend to give a fuck either.

People trafficking is a disgusting business, but where there is money to be made humans will always abuse it.

Not a time for political posturing but how are we going to be able to complete custom checks along the Irish sea when a container like this misses all checks ? Ok probably an inside job but how easy must it be to smuggle drugs into this country when a container with 39 humans in it goes undetected. All this shit about technology providing or going to provide solutions yeah right . Absolutely shocking the terror for the casualties does not bear thinking about.

Organised crime with people paid off in various places. No way can a lorry driver organise such an act all by himself. Technology won't solve any problems, people are easy to get at, whether that is through bribes or blackmail.

Aye humans and human nature always the weak link. Hollyhead on 19th then London on 22nd god knows with the travel time from Bulgaria what our emergency services are faced with.

Wonder if Channel 4 will still show this crass shite that they'd planned.

Breaking into Britain - Channel 4 Commissions Smuggled

Ed Kellie, Executive Producer and Founder of ScreenDog added, “Our borders fuel fiery debate, but little is known about how secure they really are. The best way to truly find out is to try to break through.”

Those at the top of the chain are prominent figures in important jobs, so unless you cut off the snakes head you're never going to stop it.

Most of the trucks entering Ireland aren't checked. Again most entering Holyhead from Ireland aren't checked either. When I say most I mean nearly all.

The container came in from Belgium, not through Ireland.
