When in doubt -- GET OUT!!

Ecuadorian President Lenin Moreno has announced that his government will leave the capital city of Quito amid violent protests over his move to end state fuel subsidies.

Moreno announced the move to the southern city of Guayaquil in a televised address on Monday, as defense officials revealed the military had to rescue more than 50 of its members held hostage by protesters.
Ecuador has seen five days of unrest over Moreno's plans, part of a package of economic reforms drawn up in the wake of a $4.2 billion financing deal with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Moreno blamed foreign influences such as Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro and leftist former president Rafael Correa for the unrest engulfing the nation.

The government of Ecuador is right wing??

He stood on a centre left platform, won, then fucked off the centre-left and started screaming “Show me the money!”

He’s firmly big business now.

Haven't you been following things here for some time? Anything bad is right wing, and anything good is left wing.

Quite revealing that the part of my post you’re upset about is the accurate description of the Moreno government being on the right.

I'm not upset though. Just highlighting a double standard.

I won't hold my breath waiting for you to condemn attempts to destablise a democratically-elected government.

I won't hold my breath for you to admit that Jo Swinson is a fucking lying hypocrite despite the proof

Seems a strange line to take that people aren't allowed to demonstrate against their government just because it was elected.

Surely that is one of the standing pillars of democracy?

I think he was referring to the fact that attempts to destabilize one elected government of a "corrupt scumbag" are seen as outrageous because we apparently like that scumbag, whilst destabilizing another elected "cotrupt scumbag" deserves our full solidarity.

I would love you to expand on that thought
